Default I played a legal Win Ticket OTB book awhile back.

I can't think of the name of it but it was identical to the Winticket twinspires.com USA based racing commission legalized books where I bet on dog races. twinspires.co still gives a free $100 where you don't even have to play it to withdraw it. I think you can deposit $50 minimum and just play $100 in total action and they give you $100

A few years ago there were a handful of these OTB race books and one that gave me this deal had greyhounds. I suppose the downside is that if you play trifectas and hit a big one,the IRS gets a share. You would get full track odds though and that's something offshore books don't give you on exotics. When you go with these Winticket outfits in the USA,you are really getting simulcasting full track odds right from the tracks.

I see where New York is going to lose OTB betting in a few months. There had to have been missmanagement there or else the casinos and slots at tracks there have taken away so much available gambling dollars that off track betting is really down in handle?

Back in the 80's and earlier before the casino legalization explosion, there were greyhound tracks popping up all over. Those were actually the bad old days for the greyhounds because after retiring they usually were sold to med labs or just put down.So then the greyhound racing industry cleans up it's act and gets the dogs adopted homes and the industry takes a nose dive because of casino gambling.

I used to go to a track called Sodrac Park in North Sioux City,South Dakota and people would pack the place from as far as Kansas City,Omaha,Minneapolis and Des Moines. You could hit some really big exotics and it had a fun atmosphere. It's gone bye bye now.

dayatthetrack.com Nice find Michael ,I forgot about that place.I used to go on the site but never registered.Up to $200 in match play with just stake and bonus one time roll over. Can't beat that deal.It will make watching the 2 racing satellite channels on Dish more fun for a few weeks.

I believe betfair does too, I haven't played there in a while so don't know if it's only UK or has US tracks too.

Wagerweb also has dogs. The problem with Carib is that their limits are too low. $20 wps, $10 exacta, $2 tri max. Wagerweb is $150 wps, $40 exacta, $15 tri for dogs.

Carib cuts you off at 2 min. to post. Wagerweb lets you bet until they are loading. At least they do for horses.

I checked today's menu. Carib has two dog tracks. Wager web has six.

Hey Brent. Those were the days at Sodrac. Back in the day this track was big time. I was a frequent visitor and really enjoyed it. Do you still live in the area?

Does carib have a live feed or dayatthetrack?

Dog racing can be easy to cap. Went every week when I was in south florida. Never bet the fav just too much bumping in that 1st turn to play chalk.

What a wicked forum. Someone asks a question about online betting for frickin' dog racing, and not only do people take it seriously, but people actually have real answers. I love it.

Sin Cat, I'd rather hit the dogs than the ponies. No 25 mins between races. I would bet them online if I could get the program and watch the race. Otherwise.. guess I'm not quite a degenerate to pick a dog number and wait for the results. Close though.

Hey, I don't doubt that betting on dogs would be a good time, I'm not knocking dog racing. If someone went up to me and said, "hey lets go bet on dog races", I'd be up for it, for sure. It's just something I consider fairly obscure, and the idea that not only can it be bet on online, and that people here know where to do that, is genuinely cool (and amusing to me). I would probably bet on horse races without watching, if I was really bored and starved for action, so maybe betting on dogs without watching is no different?

I lived at the dog tracks during college and when I lived in south Florida. Pretty fun to bet on and the races are like 10 minutes apart.

Hello everyone -- I'm a long time reader of this forum, but first time poster. Since I have utilized the great information from this site, I thought I should give back in an area which I am very familiar.

Places to bet dogs:

Dayatthetrack.com is the best, and legally based in the US. Great customer service, live video feeds with easy to meet wagering minimums.

Link2bet.com is offshore, but provides dog and jai-lai wagering in addition to horses.

Racebook.com also offers dogs and jai-alai, but is not highly rated by SBR (SBR: D+)

Programs/handicapping info can almost always be found at the website of that particular dog track. And it is free - Unlike those greedy t-bred and harness b+stards. Just google the track to find their site. For example, Jacksonville/St. Johns/Orange Park info can be found at www.jaxkennel.com.

Some free video feeds/handicapping info can also be found at http://www.harnessracingtv.com/

I hope this is helpful.

Message from Carib

Hi Mario, we are currently experiencing difficulties in retrieving the data for the dogs. Please be assured our techs are working on the situation. We hope to have this problem resolved within the next couple weeks. Diana

Valid point for US-based sites, like dayatthetrack.com.....

However, the offshore sites should be exempt from those pesky state restrictions.

I too have read this forum but never posted - until now.

I've very surprised no one has mentioned the best site of all for playing the dogs and horses. Granted there are some state restrictions because it is US based.

http://www.premierturfclub.com/

Great rebates. Rebates are paid out the next day. No problems getting paid - again US based. All the money goes into the pools so there are no limits.

As was previously mentioned in this thread most greyhound tracks offer free video streaming of the races for anyone interested, free programs, etc..

With the low takeout (Southland 19%) coupled with the rebates - it makes greyhound racing one of the best bets around. Throw in the 10 cent supers and the great payouts once you start playing the puppies you'll wonder why you play anything else.
