what i normally do is pick a 3 team ML parlay ranging from -200 to -900 teams once a day and do a 6-8 team parlay every day as well...that way i have a really strong chance of paying for my 6-8 team parlay through my ML parlay and make a little extra on the side. so far so good for now at least...

no no no...picking 7 -1000 wouldnt pay crap...i usually try to stay in the 300's b/c it pays at least even...sometimes if i find a -100 or -200ish ML i can add on a bigger fav from -500 to -800 usually to even the pay out...usually you can build up some ML's that pay close to 1.5:1...

like tonight for example i took

mavs -290
lakers -550
notre dame -275

pays +116

this weekend i took

vcu -160
unc -335
arkansas -800

+137

in ncaab no...if you search my threads ive had plenty go 6-1-1 and 7-1...but ive hit a handful on ncaaf and nfl this year...ive also hit a few 10 team teasers in nfl and college too so i was up decent going into ncaab...

i just dont really have the bank account to bet straight up since im just a college student w/ no major income...i figure me blowing 40-50 bucks a week is like going out to the bars one night w/ added incentive ya know?

yeah i wouldnt tell him to do 6-8 team parlays...thats just what i like to do...my advice would to work around w/ ml plays and little 2 and 3 teamers if you dont have a bank roll...get a feel for what types of bets you like to do. you may be awful at points spreads but may learn that you can just pick winners...

and if everybody and their mother is on the same pick in this forum fade the forum b/c it always seems when everybody in here is on the same pick it goes down hill...

well ive cashed out 3k throughout the football season...up a little over 500 right now through ml's in bball and have spent on avg. 30 bucks a week doing parlays since joined here which would make me around -150 since ive been doing college bball points spreads...its not really working out for me yet...

its not the key to winning...if you read my post you would get my idea...i bet around 25-50 on ML plays which brings anywhere from 25 to 75 a hit which easily covers my 5 dollar 6-8 team parlay for the day and then some...the 6-8 teamer is played b/c they arent impossible...i dont mind winning anywhere from 20-70 bucks a day with a chance to add on an extra 900 off of a measly 5 dollar parlay...

Refer to Kelly criterion. If you're making 4 team parlays, you should also be betting the games straight up, and RRing 2 and 3 team parlays as well at Kelly stakes. Either way, your parlay bets should be a fraction of your straight bets when doing this.

So I assume sports betting is a significant source of income for you from all of your winning bets?

Winning sports betting is not about "what you like to do". It's about finding +ev bets, betting a stake that is +EG and not hating money.

Refer to Kelly criterion. If you're making 4 team parlays, you should also be betting the games straight up, and RRing 2 and 3 team parlays as well at Kelly stakes. Either way, your parlay bets should be a fraction of your straight bets when doing this.

I do that more on teasers...for instance today, had celtics -5.5 then teased with 2 other teams...took new orleans ml since they were a dog and thought they'd win and teased with 2 other teams as well...that one paid out nicely..I did a couple 4 team ml parlays today...and they did come thru...but usually try to keep them at 3...like lakers ml/rockets ml/lakers under...3 team parlay with 2 ml's...1 unit paid 1.6..not bad and came thru...didn't have to worry about the spread...

I for one hate playing with the going spread...games almost always comes down to that 1 or 2 pts at the end where a foul or basket can make or break you....or instance tonight the Stanford game was -11...they had a 12 pt lead ....with 17 seconds left Cal makes 2 ft's that would ruin a Stanford play...on a ml parlay or tease it doesn't matter...bottom line is did a play help to make money at the end of the day...I don't care how I get there just show me the money...at the end of the day....week....month....and year....

I too have found ML parlays to be profitable and would have never even thought of trying them had I not stumbled on this site.

if you can find 3-4 solid ml teams that pays you almost even or better without worrying about points...that's what I like...and I can't tell you how many times I've won because of this..well actually the 2 of you guys know, he doesn't...anyways enough of this for me...time to look for tomorrow....
