Thats pretty bad, but the question is did he play on? Hockey or football they might play on, in soccer that strecher is on the field and we will not see the player for a while

soccer requires skill and very good conditioning but its for females

i played soccer for a while and it is not a pussy sport, but I can see why it would be questioned.

I heard the guy broke his leg at the ankle. Tough luck. I thought they wear shin pads on their legs.

sorry to hear that joey hope you are doing better. However that can happen from falling off a bike. It doesnt change my opinion on soccer being a pussy sport. Real men sports are football and hockey. Even baseball and basketball as well. Soccer is running around like a bunch of fruit cakes chasing a ball around

Soccer is a contact sport. Very physical.

Basketball is not a contact sport. There is contact, but anytime there is the refs can call a foul.

So you tell me. Which one is 'for females'?

Football is not a contact sport, but a collision sport. That's why they wear all the padding. Rugby is just as physical as football, but they're not wearing padding. Again, who, between football and rugby players, are the softies?

Maybe it's time for Americans to realize they're not as tough as they think. The rest of the world certainly doesn't think so...

Enlighten us, then. Show us the incidence of players of different sports in the wife-beating league compared to the population average.

In High School I played foots, bases, soccer and golf. I think soccer is a tough sport at the next level. Give me Golf and a ice chest of cold beer any day.

Lee Trevino once told a lady who saw him at dinner in a restaurant smoking and having a jack and water. She went up to him when she was leaving and told him he was a fine example of an athlete!. He said lady I'm no athlete I'm a golfer.

Rugby is for guys who aren't good enough to play football.

More serious injuries in football than rugby. And many of the serious injuries in rugby are neck injuries from collapsed scrums rather than from tackles without padding.

And for those who play or have played both, such as Haloti Ngata?

I'm kinda glad that happened to him. That should happen to anyone who thinks chasing a ball around and kicking it is fun. Soccer is the same as hockey except you use a ball, you run instead of skate, and anything resembling a fight automatically puts you in the hall of pussyness forever. Plus the game goes at 1/1 millionth the speed of hockey. Anyone want some sleep? Attend a soccer game! It's a snooze fest.

Zinedine Zidane is my hero of the soccer world and I have no respect for him. He's good because that Italian dude deserved to get beat up for talking about Zidane's family but Zidane is an absolute puss for headbutting him. It's a fight, not soccer, use ur hands and punch. Did he think no one in the world would see his headbutt? It was the World Cup wasn't it?

When you show a clip of an actual death from a game, not counting deaths from the fights in the fans by the hooligans, I'll take it seriously. Randy Johnson killed a bird on a pitch in 2001. I'll take getting my ankle sprained over a 97mph fastball to the head from a 6'10 guy any day. How long was he on the stretcher? How many minutes passed before the game could go on? The game is unfair because of that injury. Thats like Nascar on cautions, why should you count laps when your driving in single file behind a pace car that allows you to catch up to the person ahead of you? 'Sports' I never watch: 1. Soccer. 2. Nascar. 3. Men's Tennis. 4 Golf.

And not to mention, baseball players have metal spikes, no shin guards and do you think when someone is swiping second base or going hard into 2nd on a double play ball he's never gotten a piece of the 2B or SS?

there are so many stupid and ignorant people here. The guy in the video is Eduardo da Silva from Arsenal from yesterdays game Birmingham - Arsenal.
He had a surgery last night and he will be out of the game for at least 6 months. becuase of that stupid tackle he will miss the European championship this summer and this stupid tackle maybe even destroyed his career. The only good thing for him is that this injury did not happen during his time in Dinamo Zagreb.

Yes, I forgot to say. American football is very interesting. There is action for 10 seconds and then there is a break for 5 minutes for all the strategy stuff and then there is action for another 10 seconds...
    Great stuff.
However, I prefer baseball. A guy throws a ball and another guy is trying to hit it. and then it is another teams turn to throw the ball. Such a manly sport.

I personally only watch NBA and NHL, probably because it is european sport as well and because there are so many europeans playing it

Basketball is not a contact sport.
go watch a game in person. They beat the hell out of each other trying to get position down low.

Even a little further out Xavier McDaniel and Michael Jordan would maul each other.

It's really something that you have to be there in person to realize how physical the game is.

You won't find monsters like Shaq on the soccer field.

shaq is there to jump, not to fight. that is his only purpose in that game.

Thanks for making my point. If a non-contact sport like basketball can be that tough, what do you think about a contact sport like soccer? I've seen murderous soccer matches, with criminal tackles that would make football players blush.

Most Americans are as ignorant about soccer as the majority of Europeans about football. But unlike foreign populations, the US people find it necessary to name their national champions 'world champions'. The US ego unmatched in the world? America did have a true World Champion some years back. In soccer... And so, because the US men suck at it, it must be a girls sport.

Please take David Beckham back. I've scored with more women in 1 night than he's scored goals in a year.

The above smiley's indicate me attempting to watch the activity known as soccer. Occassionally I might hear an announcer go nuts over something. Usually he's going nuts over something that almost happened.

"Annnnnnnnnnd ohhhhhh myyyyyyyyyyyy gooooooodddd did you see that pass by Zidane to joenincompoop. He alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll lllllllmost kept the ball in play. Whaaaaaaat a paaaaaaasssssss. Man, if nincompoop could have got to the ball in time he would have had a 2% chance at kicking the ball behind the goalie into the net for a would be 1 to nil lead. Zidane is immortal. He literally almost just lead a pass to some schmuck on the field. What a play!!!!!!"
