Default Heads will be called on coin toss?

From Pinnacle...

Yes -173
No +160

Why heads?

Heads always called. It's a macho type of thing in the Super Bowl. Tails sounds wimpy.

I forget the percentage but according to past results heads is a great bet.

For a 50/50 bet I will take a chance with no. I don't care how wimpy it sounds.

This is certainly NOT a 50/50 bet.

Correct. In fact, it's blatantly obvious that Pinnacle knows this very well and is begging for Illusion and others to bet the 'no'.

Does anyone really think that the wonderful people at Pinnacle don't know what they're doing, EVER?

This is certainly an instance where past performance is a powerful indicator of probability. That is why this is not a 50/50 bet. I hope you don't take the 'no', Ill, but you're one of the best cappers I've seen so I'm sure you'll figure it out on your own.

If you still say NO, then Pinnacle better move that line!

Believe me, Raiders, I am not disrespecting them at all. Both of them are incredibly hot right now. I can't remember the last time Illusion lost a football wager and IMG is tearing up the hardwood.

Pinnacle should be rethinking their position...

How is it possible, that the chances are not equal on a coin toss, which is 50/50 for sure....I mean c'mon, coin tossing is coin tossing....50/50....

Anways, isn't it sound a little silly to bet on a coin toss? It's like the casino red-black bet, just with a little more chance, and little lower odds...

The bet isn't on the coin toss itself, but rather on the side called.

Playing red/black roulette (or any other roulette bet other than 0-00-1-2-3) your expected loss is the same as if you were bet the outcome of the cointoss at approx. -111.8.

Sorry, you are right, I didn't read carefully the title of the topic

About the chances....to win a coin toss bet, isn't the chance of winning is 50% ?

In roulette (0-1-2-3), the chance of winning a red/black bet is 18/37= 48, 648% ? So why is the expected loss is the same in both?

Of course.

In single zero roulette (37 number roulette), your expectation is 18/37 - 19/37 ≈ -2.70%.

If you place a bet on an event which occurs with 50% probability and risk roughly $105.71 to win $100 then your expectation is 0.5/1.0571 - .5 ≈ -2.70%.

Hence, in single zero roulette your expected loss is the same as your expected loss when betting the outcome of the coin toss at a ML of approx. -105.71.

Again you are right, I realised that the oddses for the coin toss are not 2.0 / 2.0
I played Will Hill coin toss game a few times, the oddses are 2.0 / 2.0 there, but there is a chance (1/32) for a "you lose no matter what u bet" result....

I don't know if I buy into this but the coin used for the Super Bowl is said to be top heavy increasing the odds of heads being tossed.

Even if it were top heavy would that increase the odds of heads? I have no idea, maybe someone else does.

More unsubstantiated bullsh*t being propogated on the forums, as usual ............

I'm not saying yes/or no is good, but what amazes me is how many people take what they read as universal truth.
