Yes but I would have a separate account just for gambling

Yes it's safe. Just scope out the other options and ensure it's your best method given your needs (deposit size etc).

Ditto. It can often be the best method both incoming and outgoing, and I've never experienced any problems. The only downside I can think of is time, particularly if your banking clerk doesn't know what she's doing and/or misprints the necessary information. GL Mavs...
