    Default BetAtlas' Futures: Awful

Odds to Win 2008 AL EAST
    2000. EAST - Baltimore Orioles +3000
    2001. EAST - Boston Red Sox -170
    2002. EAST - New York Yankees -150
    2003. EAST - Tampa Bay DRays +2500
    2004. EAST - Toronto Blue Jays +1200

This is an embarrassment. I'm 90% sure NYY -150 is a clerical error, however the managers are too stupid/stubborn to admit it. Yankees +150 would be in line with the remaining bookmakers on planet Earth, where prices range from +105 to +155.

If this is not an error, it's a direct insult to their customers. They're saying, "We think you're so stupid you'll bet into a 28% house edge and we'll laugh as we count your money." Even the most rabid, unsophisticated Sox/Yankee superfan gamb00ler is going to sense he's being taken advantage of when he eyes a takeback of -150 on -170.

    Ricky,

I would take up to -500 on the Yankees in that spot, because that's how solid a bet it is. It's justified.

I don't know about Atlas but some books have a lot of action coming in from the North East and price for that especially ones with more credit than post-up.

    Ricky,

I agree. This is the sports betting equivalent of rape. I figured the house edge was close to 27.4%...

What is "normal" for a 5-way future?
Most books hold about 15% on a 5-way. Pinnacle holds 10%. BetAtlas's 27.4% hold is a disgrace, as you observed.

If they want to juice the northeast customers more, that's fine... but balance your overall prices.
