Default Please everyone, utilize money management...

I'm tired of reading these stories about chasing and losing entire bankrolls in a day or any short period of time..

I had to learn the hard way myself, I too used to chase and bet large %'s of my bankroll on one bet and that is the wrong way to go about things. Trust me as someone who has made many mistakes in the past. Chasing is never good cause then you are betting more on games you have just as much or even less of an edge on. Why bet more on games if you don't have the same edge with? Seriously ask yourself that when you have the urge to chase cause you've had a bad short term streak. Everyone has bad streaks, no one is immune to them. Many savvy veteran gamblers will tell you they have had horrific bad streaks where they went 0-12 2-17 etc.

You never want to risk too much on one play, NEVER no matter what the situation presents.

Remember if you want to get rich by gambling its not going to happen overnight or even anytime soon especially if you aren't using MM.

Please everyone..

Exactly, it never really hits you until you are either in Credit Card Debt or your bank account has no money left in it.

Some of these folks on here have rich parents that bail them out of bad situation but the key word is "Some"

Not all of us are lucky enough to have rich parent or siblings who can bail us out of jams.

It kills me when I read these stories cause it's so avoidable and I can relate.

Gyno, the problem is most gamblers just want a big rush. There's a release in there somewhere, a euphoria, that's what people chase after. Even in losing, the bottom is just as much of a high as when you're on top. The people who are serious will follow your advice, but fortunately for bookmakers most gamblers don't have that kind of discipline.

That is why I live as far away from a poker table as possible.

Married guys that gamble without their wife's knowledge are notorious chasers. Single guys like us know the value of money management.

This could be posted daily and it wouldn't be enough. Unfortunately it usually takes people losing it all multiple times (often despite having solid winning %s) before they begin to use money management, and even then many folks never learn. Cheers

Also utilize MM to avoid making silly bets on Japanese soccer players at 3AM just because you're pissed off and can't fall asleep.

agree, crazyl, as only an outright degenerate phuck would do such a thing or do something like routinely starting his day on a sports wagering website. It's a phucken sickness, pal.

Diogee, if they took away sports wagering I would bet the neighbor on the color of the next car to pass by. It's a real sickness, pal. get out before you're in too deep.

Se Hyuk Joo is offering some serious value in the Kuwait Open today. Lin Ma is overvalued. WSP, you on this?

wow! I understand though I too would steam and chase money. I don't know if it was trial and error or what, but I learned money management. Great points in this thread guys. Nice write up Gabe. To me when we make poor bet units its a combo of greed and rush, then when we lose the inevitable guilt. Fvck that. Young guns out there if you want to make money in gambling practice DISCIPLINE. DISCIPLINE is boring and tedious ,but its the only way to stay away from a zero bank roll. Once again great thread!
