Default Coach K - Best Ever?

One of the best, right up there with Wooten, et al.

Due to their mediocre (for them) record last year, no one picked them in Top Ten - I think Coach's Poll had 'em #11, AP 12 or 13. N Car, UCLA and Memphis were everyone's top 3.
    .
And after Tenn beats Memphis on Saturday should be on top all polls. (Tenn might be there too)

Playing his bench more this year, even, if I saw it right, some zone D. Whatever it takes to win.

And don't bet agaisnt the dukies in the conference tournament. Some coaches actually want a fairly early exit from those mostly meaningless bouts, if they're going to anyway get an at-large bid to The Dance.

Not Coach K. He likes to win them.

Duke can't be #1 next week, unless both Memphis and Tennessee lose during the week (not even sure if either plays before their showdown) and UNC loses. If everybody wins out this week, next week's poll will be:

    1 - Tenn/Memphis winner
    2- North Carolina
    3 - Duke

Remember that Duke is is now ranked 4th behind those three teams.

He is one of the best ever. I got him behind Wooden,Knight, and Crum off the top of my head. You can throw Rupp in there too.

Maybe they were great because of him. I don't see alot of them setting the NBA world on fire. Grant Hill was probably the best he had. Duke's had nothing compared to N. Carolina.

Dean Smith and Roy Williams have to be two of the most overrated coaches ever.

Bobby Knight is the best coach ever

then again, when you see how many mcdonlads all-americans he has year in and year out, maybe he doesnt actually develop the talent all that well. james gist, lonny baxter, chris wilcox, these are guys duke didnt even consider recruiting that all developed much more over their years in school than many duke big guys. Hell, boom osby didnt even average 4 points a game in CC and he dominated the Duke big in College park this year.
