Guys he fukked my buddy the other day in an E-Bay scam. Here is the story, my Buddy saw a dell laptop brand new, 2g Ram, 160GB hard drive, 2.16ghz processor (intel) for $400

My bud sends money through fed ex cashiers check like an idiot, it gets cashed an no laptop. Now seller's account is closed. How do I know it is Compactor??? Well I did good detective work and got the foreign IP he is using and also check was cashed the town where he lives in New Mexico. What are the odds it is not him? He has had trouble with E-Bay before. How does he get new accounts? Don't they screen?

Guys here are the names he uses on E-Bay, he delivers on $20 items though I guess as part of the scam. All his accounts are gone.

Does he know someone on the inside??

Don't be fooled by his persona, most con artists are actually smooth talkers. Don't trust him as far as you can throw him. He sold a truckload of knockoff baseball cards at a discount claiming the proceeds were for a children's cancer foundation. Not much lower you can go than that.

Whatever the inside game is between these two (can't say I have an overriding interest) it is correct, as Mr Dikk states, that if you use your CC via PayPal, you can reverse the charge if scammed.

It is also true that one reason the bloom is off the ebay rose is the great amount of fraud among sellers of electronic items, ditto gift certs and a few other high-risk categories. (The dramactic actions ebay is taking to stop this has caused the current discountent among sellers - thay start a "boycott" this week, for only one week. They feel that honest sellers will be injured the most.)

I'd never buy an electronic item on ebay unless (a) the seller had at least 99% positive fb, and 300 minimum (b)the seller was inside the US, and (c) I paid for it via PayPal with a CC.

A year or two ago my sister lost her cellphone. Her carrier wanted to sell her one for $150. I found the sam phone she lost on eBay for $33, including ship costs. It still works fine and she feels she got a great deal.
