Default Can the Patriots make another run at perfection..

next year? According to this writer it's a definite possibility.

Question: Do you think the Pats can come back with another perfect regular season, or even make it to the Super Bowl next year? -- Mark B.
    Yes and yes.

Despite their crushing loss in Super Bowl XLII, the Patriots remain an excellent team. Tom Brady remains the best quarterback in the NFL and he should still be throwing to the league's foremost game-breaking target, Randy Moss, who is likely to conclude that remaining with New England is a better idea than signing with another team even if it does end up costing him big dollars. Opponents will continue to struggle to find answers for Moss, Wes Welker and the rest of the Patriots' phenomenal passing game. Bill Belichick and Scott Pioli will make the necessary repairs on defense.

Another perfect regular season will be incredibly difficult to achieve, just as it was in 2007, but the Pats have obviously shown that it is possible. Even if they end up losing a few games, I could easily see them being a strong Super Bowl contender again.

At this point, there isn't another AFC team that looks better.

I think that is the closest we will see for my life time, but I have been known to be wrong before. I dont think the pats do it again...

depends on what they do in free agency and how their schedule turns out...they always said they took the loss in indy real hard last year...i cant imagine how they will approach next year w/ losing their last game in the super bowl...they definitely need to address their LB position in the off season and in the draft...they need more youth and speed in their front 7...but i think it could be done

I think that it is unlikely because the weak ass division will be getting stronger next year and what they did last year was a fluke that only happens every 30 years or so.

They will lose one game.........intentionally. They found out it is too much pressure to run the table. 18-1, bank it.

It's not out of the question, but I'm certainly not getting my hopes up like I did this year. My boyfriend still can't talk about it.

Default It all came down to accomplishing personal records as to why the Pats lost.

I always rant about socialism but when you are a team, there is a bit of socialism involved and the Patriots were the most non socialist team.By that I mean Brady,Moss and a few other players played too much even after the game was decided in a blowout in the 3rd quarter where they stayed in the game.If they would have rested them more, they would have had just enough gas in the tank to easily clean the table. They were pretty concerned with records and sticking it to the other teams showing them that even without spying on a team, they could still whoop them.

Even Tiger Woods in unbelievably good shape in an individual free market sport like golf where you just depend on yourself, limits himself to playing in just so many tournaments in order to stay fresh for the premier tournaments. If he threw pace out the window,he could probably go nuts for 3 or 4 years winning a ton of weekly tournaments but would probably feel like retiring after that.

Even for people in great shape, there is only so much gas in the tank and the Patriots ran out of gas.

"At the point," is the most critical part of that statement. How many of us thought that Green Bay would post the record they did this season? I didn't. After the first game between the Steelers and the Browns, i though Cremmel was in for a looooong freakin' season.
It takes 2-3 games into the regular season to know anything - and even then, any given Sunday always comes up.

Super Bowl disappointment is historically difficult to overcome, and the team to watch this season fromt he AFC maybe the Jags.

4 out of the 5 last SB winners faild to make the playoffs the following year including the last 3 losers Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia.

I think Pats make playoffs but might not get back and dont see a undefeated season in 2008 for them
