Doug Williams and Timmy Smith, scored 35 points in a quarter I believe, I agree either Timmy Smith or Dougie.

it was the 2nd quarter of that superbowl datek.

i would have said steve young, when he threw those 6 TD's against chargers. but, the 49ers were a 17 point favorite in that superbowl so it was expected really.

It was the 1990-91 superbowl against the Bills John. where he went 25 out of 27 in that game. two of those incomplete passes were throw aways.

Thanks Dan. And was it the NFC Championship game, remember that black QB I think #17 and I think it was..oh I cant remember. Sims for a brief time in history was equal to Joe Montana. That passing stat of 25-27 in a Superbowl is just not even imaginable. And those were not dink-n-dunk passes. Those were 25 yard outs.

The TO performance was spectacular. It was too bad McNabb and Reid sold TO and the Eagles out by prematurely deciding the game was over. If McNabb and Reid get their heads out of their asses in that game and the Eagles pull it out, then the TO performance could definitely be considered as one of the greatest ever.

He wasn't even the MVP for that Superbowl, although it was an impressive performance. It was against a horrible rush defense though.

john, i think your thinking of doug williams in the 1987 superbowl. because, that was the only black QB i can think of back then offhand.
