Default sportsbetting account left in will

    working scenario

let's say you have 20k sitting in one of the top tier books at the time of your untimely demise and no one but you and the book knows about the account.

Anyone know what your principle heir would have to go through to retrieve this sure to surprise them item in your will.

For what it's worth...I think typically those who gamble do it without informing family members about it...

I have all my account sites and passwords hidden somewhere that I'm certain will be found should I die. I just hope that none of my survivors look through my bet history and discover how many times I've bet on the Heat this season. Great shame...

Provided that a family member, legal heir, executor of the will, or legal representative knew about the account, they could petition the Court where you died to appoint them as administrator or executor, then you could present these legal documents to the book and request a payout, the funds being placed into the estate account. If the funds were designated to a particular heir, then there would be a distribution to that heir, otherwise to the lawful intestate heirs.

    Hope this answers your question..

Of course the book would have to be willing to accept, otherwise you would need to have your US state court order recognized and enforced by a costa rican/curucao/panama Court...

My wife does know about my accounts, and so does a good friend who also holds significant accounts. We've kind of struck a deal that if either of us meets our untimely demise that the other would help our significant others access the money. All my account info is written down so that she'd be able to just hand it over to him so he could do all the withdrawing. Basically act like me without being me.
However if i did this "under the table', i'd still let someone with knowledge of sportsbooks, and of course whom i would trust, know where to find my account info in my house so that he would be able to access the money for whomever i wanted to leave it to.

You just need to leave the login info for your family (wife if you are married) and they can get a check in your name that would be put into your estate. Unless they wanted to continue rolling the dice

If you provide a death certificate, books will typically pay it to the estate. At least the "A" rated books...
