Why is bookthebet.com on your avoid list? Have they done scams on bonuses? Are they in financial trouble? According
to the paragraph above the lists, it would tend to suggest that. Please respond

bookthebet- As long as you are here tell us a little about your book. What are the limits? Do have have reduced juice, bonuses, unique lines or anything else that would attract us to your book. How long have you been in business and if you are the owner how long have you been in the business? Is there any history of no pay or slow pay? Do you have rules against bonus abuse or syndicate play? If yes, can you confiscate winnings or just bonuses? I put it on a tee for you. Take a swing and get a promo in.

OK, I will be happy to give you some information about bookthebet.com. First of all Mardy Kidd NEVER had anything to do with us. That was misinformation that was posted on this site. Second, we did hire Anthony Salis without realizing his background. We ended up firing him.

We are a one tear old book. Currently we have a special feb. promotion of 100% bonus up to $1,000.00 with x10 rollover. Some will say the bonus is high, but we have found it not to be so. We have currently no reduced juice or any other promotions like that.

My email if you have any questions is anthony@bookthebet.com. I welcome anyone to try us. I have talked to Bill many times about our rating on SBR. We hope to improve on a rating which I do not think is fair. Good Luck to all no matter where you wager!

i see you also have a 25% cash bonus with only a 4x roll...
thats very high for a new book, and leaves me with a bad feeling.

Quarm- Shut the hell up and you'll quit making a fool of yourself. Bookthebet has been in business two years and yes, they do deserve an upgrade. I don't know of any problems with this book. If there are I'm sure SBR will know about it and can post it.

This is what SBR has on them.

12/22/2005 11:38:00 PM
BookTheBet (SBR rating D-) asking 2wagerSports and UWagerSports victims to throw good money after bad? BookTheBet’s owner is calling customer lists from these scam sportsbooks, offering huge "bailout" bonuses. One player reports being offered $8,900 if he is willing to deposit $2,000 and wager the total amount ten times. Players should avoid all sportsbooks offering too-good-to-be-true bonuses as well as sportsbooks who are giving out U.S. phone numbers.

SBR Bill Dozer reports: Marty Kidd shuts down his latest scam site UWagerSports (SBR rating F-). Phone lines and betting software have been off-line for a week and the book’s clerk had admitted to at least two stiffed players that they will be reopening with a new name because of negative press.

SBR Bill Dozer reports: New scam sportsbook UWagerSports (SBR rating F-) giving 100% bonuses to new bettors. It is unlikely that these players will see any of their funds again. UWS is not expected to stay in operation beyond the NFL playoffs. This website was built for the purpose of scamming players, just as ownership’s previous sportsbook, 2WagerSports did. Players are reminded that SBR recommends playing with sportsbooks rated B+ or higher.

SBR Bill Dozer reports: Scam sportsbook 2WagerSports
(SBR rating F-) reemerges as UWagerSports. Marty Kidd, of MK Sports Handicapping Service, is once again at the helm of this doomed sportsbook. Since our last 2wager report on 6/16/05 new players have reported being stiffed thousands by Marty and 2WagerSports. Players should avoid UWagerSports and its 40% bonuses at all costs.

Bookthebet: TOW - please check your facts before you smear our name like this. BookTheBet has no association with Marty Kidd. Marty Kidd does not now, nor has he ever been a part of, an owner of, a partner of, or even a clerk of BookTheBet.

Anthony Salas was one of Marty's salesman who Marty screwed out of money along with customers. After Marty closed shop, Anthony needed a job, so we offered one to him. Anthony is not an owner and has no control over customers' funds.

BookTheBet.com has been in business for a year and a half and we have never failed to make a payout. If you don't like our bonuses, fine. But don't go spreading false rumors about our company. Feel free to call us any time at 888.626.0675 and ask for an owner to speak to if anyone wishes to discuss the matter further.

TOW: "Dear bookthebet,

As far as anthony salas is concerned he happens to be the same anthony salas that tried to get me to deposit 5K at uwagersports 2 months ago, right before uwagersports tanked. I was investigating that book and had salas on the phone. I was pretending to be a customer interested in signing up with the book.

Surprisingly salas has been involved with the latest 2 scams of Marty Kidd. And of course, even when I had him on the phone he denied knowing Kidd....

That said I have spent the last five days in San Jose and had the time to investigate your book through some of my contacts.

Here is what I say: lets see if you guys are still around at superbowl. I always wish everyone good but..... the consensus on you guys is that you will not be around. Hope you guys prove my sources wrong.

lastly...strong suggestion for you guys: pitching sales via email mentioning US phone numbers may attract undesirable attention.

On a general note: all bookmakers I visited expect an unusually high number of failures by February."

That was not posted here. I believe you are confused. BookTheBet was rated before UWager folded. I have said publicly that those who made this conclusion were wrong.

Why is bookthebet.com on your avoid list? Have they done scams on bonuses? Are they in financial trouble? According
BooktheBet is a one-man operation with no experience in the business. Tony will say they now have a staff with the latest employee(s) added yesterday.

Thus far, two players have complained of being threatened with physical harm and two have played us voicemails from Tony where he uses vulgarity. Tony has tried to justify his actions but as most business owners, and non-business owners for that matter, know, addressing your clientele on a personal level spells trouble for your company.

Tony has been willing to offer individual deals to players in order to "help them out". Anyone who has been on the forums for a few months knows that if it is not listed in the rules, you are in dangerous territory.

As Raiders pasted, Tony has been using US phone lines to call players and this has already proven to be problematic. Doing this is a liability to the company for obvious reasons.

Quote:
Second, we did hire Anthony Salis without realizing his background. We ended up firing him.
Hiring scammers to do so much as sweep your floors is not a good investment and if nothing else, hurts the fragile reputation of your company that needs a positive image to have a chance. Once Marty's stooges were hired, players who were already ripped off were pestered by the same voices. This isn't the first time a scammer uses a client list to get his next gig.

Quote:
We are a one tear old book. Currently we have a special feb. promotion of 100% bonus up to $1,000.00 with x10 rollover. Some will say the bonus is high, but we have found it not to be so.
Is Bookthebet booking on credit? Players ask new books how they can afford to give the place away with 100% bonuses and they usually say something like "We are passing the advertising budget on to you".

The truth is most books offer the bonuses instead of buying advertising for two reasons. #1 No knowledge of marketing and #2, Giving you a bonus costs the book nothing in overhead. They get action without an upfront investment.

Do I know Tony is playing with cash he doesn't have? No, but logic tells you, you do not want most of the players who are willing to post up at a new book with $1000 bonuses. Some bookies start with a small book of NFL Sunday bettors and think this is easy, all I need is players! Then they get hit so fast they think they were robbed, a la Dimebetting. Advertising this offer on the forum will hurt. Luckily for Tony, AK can't follow up here with a "BooktheBet is solid".

Like many who go belly up, I don't think Tony intends to rip players off but unless he pulls a Dimeplayer and links up with someone, BookTheBet has little chance of making it. There isn't room for a crash course and these kinds of errors in today's game.

I'd like to share my experience with BookTheBet. They offered me a bail out on the $939 that I won from RichCoast that CRIS refused to pay me. The stipulations were that I had to make a matching $939 deposit and roll it over 9 times. I spoke to Tony a few times on the phone and he was always pleasant and helpful. When I first signed on there they were in the midst of changing their software and they had to hand write our tickets for 5 days. I ended up losing my entire balance (I called a play in for a friend of mine who lost close to 2 dimes on the Colts on the money line when Pittsburg beat them.). So I can't comment on whether I would have been paid or not but my gut tells me I would have. The one thing I would point out is that they do not have very many customers. They only wrote 75 tickets on a Saturday in January. 1/3 of those were mine. That is not necessarily a bad thing as at least they are not paying out a lot of people either. My suggestion would be , as with any new book, if you are going to give them a try start out small and see how it goes. I really hope it works out well for BookTheBet since they were willing to pay me my winnings, something that CRIS would not do.

I'd just like to note that there is Bookthebet (D-), the book that is being discussed here, and also Betthebook (F). They have no connection to each other, but I wonder if the confusion over who is running Bookthebet could be related to Betthebook?

Raiders72001:

You do not have all your facts correct.
1)When Anthony Salis worked for us for a short time he did call some old clients from Uwagers.
2) We never offered anyone one a 300% bailout
3) No employee of RCS ever worked for bookthebet.

Bill D. Wrote part of the incorrect facts. But he failed to admit he was wrong.

It can be tricky following the different names and sometimes the same names with different urls. Betthebook is a Playerstime Group site which recently stiffed a handful of players when one of the books was taken off-line for good.

You personally told me that the RCS "guys were already in my office" that day and the clerk at the other end of the RCS number said he worked for you. Maybe the RCS guys didn't stay long enough to fill out the paper work and get a paycheck, in which case you would be correct and Bill Clinton did not have sexual relations with that woman.

I think there are enough answers to your original question here and you are welcome to keep us updated.

Thanks Catsfan for your feedback.
