Question Ever considered betting MLs only instead of spreads?

Just curious if anyone has considered focusing on ML wagering more than spreads.

I like MLs mostly (dogs). Sometimes I do spreads.

With moneylines all you have to do is win the game and thats exactly what teams are trying to do, they aren't trying or could care less about covering X amount of points..

I've just witnessed too many games where meaningless crap makes or breaks a wager on a spread..

In NCAAF I found that if you pick your spots well you can do really well betting the moneyline on dogs over +300. I bet them 2x on the spread and x on the moneyline. You only have to hit one or two of those per weekend to cleanup.

I am testing a program that looks for value propositions for the moneyline vs the spread. In other words according to the spread the moneyline should be N but instead it is a better value than N. Or, according to the moneyline the spread should be +- Y but instead it is a better value than +- Y.

What I don't know is what to do about it. I'm thinking of maybe doing an arb between the spread on one side and the moneyline on the other side.

The other option on how to use this is for games you like after handicapping them use this program to determine whether or not you will bet the moneyline or the spread.

Still in the early stages though.

i think the only way you can be successful betting big moneyline favs is if you have a huge bankroll that can absorb the hit of 1 or 2 bad moneyline losses.

Funny you bring this up. I did a 4 team parlay last week that hit with all ML plays and tried it again tonight with a 6 teamer that hit. Might try those again !!!

ML parlays are a great way to go...never new of them until I came here and saw Westside Pete and IMGV using them here as well as a member at another forum using them with great success as well.

i think i'd be ahead rather in a hole if i stay with ml bets. that is why i like baseball more. spreads are hella tricky. so many close losses by 1 or 2 pts

I like to bet underdogs for the odds but favorites take to much risk for the possibility of upsets.
