Default Is Phil Jackson Overrated

we all know Phil Jackson always seem to have the talent with the likes of jordan, pippen, kobe, and shaq. but, i doubt he would be that great of coach if he didn't have all that talent.

Jackson is an opportunist.
Has he ever won the coach of the year?

I think this guy is the most overrated coach in the history of the professional sports.

Just take a look at what he's doing this year. That team under any other coach is well under 500. The overrated coach we should be talking about is Larry Brown, who has come in and taken a mediocre team and made it downright bad.

every team Brown has had starts off slow, he is the best coach ever in the nba, every stop he has made the team was much, much better then before he got there! Look it up!

i disagree with the brown statement above isetcap.

brown has exceled everywhere in the past. plus, it's not his fault that Thomas left him with that mess to start with in the first place. i'm sure if you give him time to clean up that mess, he will be a very productive coach for the knicks.

It's tough to argue against 9 rings. With or without Kobe/Shaq, Jordan/Pippen.

Personally, I've run kinda hot and cold on Jackson. I've been listening to his weekly show on SIRIUS, and he really has an interesting depth of understanding about the game. For him, it doesn't seem to be as much about x's and o's or talent as it is about egos and competitiveness. It's really an odd contrast to many of my other favorite coaches who mostly stress fundamentals and execution. Then again, Jordan didn't needed to be lectured about funamentals and execution, being one of the hardest working players in history.

Tex Winter is the guy that help Phil Jackson be where he is today. He created the Triangle Offense that has helped Jackson's teams.

But you got to think if the teams of Jordan/Pippen and Shaq/Kobe would of did what they did with out the Jackson coaching staff. Take any of the pieces out of the puzzle and I dont think they would of did what they did.

the thing about jackson is, he does pick his spots very well. theres just one thing about this guy everyone seems to forget though. jackson has won 2 CBA titles in his coaching carreer. so, the man does know how to coach.

Shaq and Kobe were together in L.A for years without being able to beat
San Antonio. Jackson comes in with less talent and wins 3
championships in a row. We have seen teams with immense talent
still be unable to win a championship. I remember Lakers had Eddie
Jones,Nick Van Exel,Elden Campbell and still lost with Del Harris as
coach. Lakers are doing better than expected this year--
