I would do exactly what G Gordon Liddy did. Tell Congress to go **** off and then walk out.

Pettitte, at the cost of his own reputation, told the truth about his use. Why, then, would he lie on behalf of somebody else's reputation? Pettitte showed the right attitude by letting go off his ego. Clemens has an ego that can't handle that. Not Pettitte's problem.

And Congress absolutely has a role in cleaning up sports.

i was called to testify in front of congress, once. i was ready to tell the truth, but a mafia kingpin showed up in the audience with my brother from the old country, who i hadn't seen in years. so i kept my mouth shut.

now that i think about it that may have been Godfather II.

Interesting, this spin from drug use in sports to selling out friends. Hey, any reason not to come clean.

Since you're into psychology, you may want to compare users in baseball to dirty cops, and how the 'corps' is supposed to cover for them.

I happen to think that users in baseball, or other sports, are thieves. They steal the glory from others. Plus they steal jobs from non users.

Of course, American society has become a fabric of cheaters all across the board, so I guess you could make a point that it's too far gone, so why bother. It would be cynical, but at least it would have a degree of realism.

So, Dan...let's say you are Andy and you KNEW, I mean absolutely KNEW Roger had used steroids/HGH. You're called in front of Congress, sworn in, hand on the bible, the whole 0 yards..are you saying that you would purjure yourself and risk going to jail instead of telling the truth?

Why is Congress involved in this? Do they have that little to do? If so, then why are we paying them?

Not saying anything is not the same as lying under oath.
