Wouldn't you have to enter their contest, and rank the best on the site, with your picks for that team?

You have to develop a public track record. Adjusted my sig to make the point.

    --------------------------------------
    Dark Horse on record:

90-72 ATS or 55.6% at wagerline

70-40 ATS or 63.6% for statfox NFL contest

You get your own web-site,and tv show and talk a whole bunch mess, and get idiots to call you and ask for your expert advice.Even though you really dont know anymore than the people calling.Because really the people get to feel good no matter what.If your advice helps then the caller is happy, and if your advice is a loser then he can blame you,and go to bed knowing that it wasn't his fault he lost. The main thing is you just have to have the money to start the website, and tv show.I don't think anybody can really be an expert, the best thing you can do is study the teams, and make an educated guess.

Congrats on your statfox contest DH. Only 9 points away from winning the whole thing out of 250 people.

Willie B removed the links, without mentioning the edit, so now I look like a f*cking idiot.

It's not like sportsgirl came out with two helmets on her breast and then smash them together and the helmet that crack and fell of was the loser. Pretty good idea though. Might increase your subscribership.

    Two ways to answer that.

    1) You get to be an expert, in the sense of being good, the same way you get good at anything else, by studying, learning, developing new methods and ruthless self-analysis. It also helps to have talent, to be what is called a 'natural' handicapper. Note that this type of expert still lacks some of the tools to win, like market timing, line shopping and money management.

    2) You get to be KNOWN as an expert by posting picks and having a good track record. Due to randomness, most such experts will be experts mostly through luck.

You have to be in the scene. At least, that's how it usually works. Friends helping friends.

I guess it could be a side income, if you're a good enough gambler. If touting is a main source of income that could be a problem, because you wouldn't be very good as a gambler.

Basically, money comes to those who already have it, and disappears from those who don't.
