Default Sportsbooks in trouble after superbowl?

Just wondering if there are any books that we need to be watching right now. Rumor had it some of the books were in very bad shape, and taking that beatdown from the NYG ML covering had to kill them.

Anyways, just wondering if anyone is having problems at all.

I don't think they took that big of a hit... I would say they took a little hit on the Pats and made out on the Total and props... Overall I think the books won...

Books had a great year so no superbowl outcome was going to hurt.

Plus most did not lose much on it

Right, a book with volume should have a nice cushion off the props alone. Books would have done well if the Pats won but didnt cover or get the teasers. Books should have escaped with something in their pocket.

All of the low rated shops are a concern. I wouldn't be surprised to see any of the Sportsbook.com operated webmasters pull the plug, or a big site like SportsbookUSA that has been in slow-pay for years. BetUS, no matter how much they market, will be a concern because of their earlier years and the cash on hand at the end of an ad campaign. If they ever were in a position where they wanted out but couldn't sell...what would they do?

Maybe its just people in my general area (huge Pats fans)... but most people I talked to about betting the game said they were putting huge bets on the Pats and the over. I would guess thats what the general public did.... maybe not the Pats, but I think most people took the over.

Here's an interview where BetJam and Bookmaker say they didn't lose on the game.

Actually I bet the low rated and recreational books did better because they offered a better price on the Pats ML and some had better numbers on the side as well...

Yea, could be. Unfortunately the books I am talking about actually have the money but want to keep it.
