I have a Scotttrade account and have never had a problem with anything that I have wanted to do.

Some say Etrade could go bankrupt they were hit hard by the sub prime mortgage cris. their stock price went from a 52 week high of 25 to around 2. they have rebounded since back to around 5 but not out of the water.

And etrade only charges $7 a trade for unlimted shares

etrade is horrible. customer service is hella slow.

i have accounts in both etrade, td ameritrade, and scottrade. scottrade is the cheapest and their cs is pretty good. the only bad part about scottrade is that i don't have *************** set up there, so i have to mail them checks.

tdameritrade is nice too, a little bit more expensive, but i can do spread options there and their option trading platform is better than scottrade.

etrade...only advantage i can think of right now is that you can trade on 6 markets with different curriencies, but you have to convert them back to USD before you withdraw. why would you want to buy stocks in hong kong anyways.

I'm not overly impressed with either but zecco has 10 free trades a month.

for every 1k accts they open a day, 500 leave daily and take tranfer their shitt to other brokers
