BetGeteway
Warning: Problem sportsbook, BetGateway (SBR rating F+) to gamble with player funds once again. Gateway entered the 2004 NFL playoffs admittedly broke and unable to pay their clients for months. Management told players that an employee had stolen their money and told SBR that the fate of player funds depended on the book’s success during the last few NFL games. Fortunately, the end of the NFL season was profitable for the house and Gateway players reported receiving payments. New SBR readers have since inquired about this sportsbook and their generous offers after receiving promotional email. Players can expect this sportsbook’s luck to eventually run out. Gateway’s high risk model consists of offering -105 pricing and large bonuses.
Note: Gateway has been upgraded from F- to F+ to reflect payment on delinquent accounts.

Thanks Square but I can't take credit for the find. Our readers do a nice job giving us leads and that was the case here. It sure does help to keep your scammers together where you can see em. =)

LOL good job Bill. Nothing worse than outright dumb scammers. Players need to be on the lookout for direct mail, email and even forums for these con retards. They have no cost outside of advertisement so they can afford some slick marketing.

One of the few books that got me for a nice chunk. I was one of their first customers and while they paid good the first month, in the second month they turned into a no pay (this was over a year ago).
I really appreciate SBR staying on top of these guys. They love to open up new sites to try to get players money, but SBR helps players know about their new operations.

SBR Bill Dozer reports: BetGateway (SBR rating F-) remains down through day 4. One player reports desperately trying to retrieve a balance of $120,000 for over two months.

I'm sorry for the player, it is going to be hard for him to get his money... So basically Betgateway and Bet4Aces are owned by VIPBetZone.com??

according to bill's report. it sure does look that way jay. the current players there are being asked to use the same neteller code as bet4aces. kinda reminds me of what 777rock did when they first taking neteller. although, 777rock pays and, this scam book don't.

this is the exact reason why costa rica is such bad place to play. i mean theres just too much bullshit that goes on there. no wonder watch dog sites like SRB have to start out there ratings so low. it's because of stuff like this place is pulling/doing. these type of books give the rest of the good books a bad name down there. mainly by association alone if nothing else.

Most sportsbook are in Costa Rica, you can find a sportsbook office every couple of miles. I don't think that the country as much to do with the reliability of the shop, the only down side of Costa Rica is that there is no government control at all, but at the same time I don't think that it would help that much.

jay, after i got screwed by a book in CR one time. i vowed never to play in that country again. but, after a couple of people helped me get my money back. it took a long time for me to even reconsider the idea of playing in CR again.now you have a better idea why i am so suspect about new books in CR.

BIgBoy, I understand your concearn and it makes sense, you still have to take in consideration that probably 90% of books that are not in Europe are in Costa Rica, so you actually might be playing at one of them.

When I was new I tried to stay with books outside of south and central America. The main reason was I was sick of the accents and was sick of worrying that everytime i called that something might have been lost in translation. Now 5dimes and cris are in my top 10.
I expect a good book to find people who have english as there first language. Not the case with betonstars and many of the flybynights.

glad to receive this update.i was scammed for $19000 by vipbetzone(mauricio gomez) summer 2004,bill then put them as a scam alert.same story as last time, somebody ran off with the money.if bill could facilitate legal proceddings against the owner, mauricio gomez,i would fly down, provide all my documentation, etcc to put this guy away.if costa rica wants to receive revenue from gaming they should arrest the thieves that ruin it for everyone.the address for these crooks is 25 metros al este de la sala garbo centro ejecutivo don bosco.these is a bodyguard out front with barbed wire around the perimeter.i enjoyed reading about bills adventure with royal toughs.i,d like to sign on with the next posse that goes down to san jose, maybe toss a moltov cocktail onto his roof one night
