All of the Republicans are rejoicing in the streets. We've owned the White House 20 of the past 28 years, and will for another 4 at least if Hillary is the nominee for the Democratic party ...

Go, Hill, Go ... you can do it!!!!!

No doubt moneyline. Clinton winning all but assures a McCain presidency. If you love war and/or you're in the top .5% financially you have to be thrilled tonight

And if you love taxes and/or believe that people shouldn't have to actually work for a living in order to get paid, then I understand why the prospect would make you upset, BB!

Don't worry. Socialist Switzerland is still taking applications

PS -- the 'Canada" threat got old after Bush was elected the first time ... please, how can we miss you if you won't go away???

Republican in 1980 ... 1984 ... 1988 ... 2000 ... 2004 ...

Only the lovely Clinton years, where a dot.com boom allowed the masses to forget what a joke he and his wife were as human beings allowed those 8 years to take place ...

8 out of the last 28 years ... I'm real bad with math ... what's the % again?

I never said I was moving to Canada (although I did live in Montreal for awhile). Are you just talking generalities? I don't get it...

Luckily for you everyone's struggling under the Bush administration (regardless of hours worked). Store owners are getting killed, entrepeneurs are being eliminated, the stock market is taking a bashing, home construction has gone to hell, etc.

As for war, it's funny that the people who've never served and would shit their pants if they had to put on a military uniform are the first to suggest others fight for useless causes.

I have a Master's from Auburn, and that was always the biggest mystery to me about Alabama. The exact people who should be voting Democrat (the poor and the dumb), vote Republican. The Republicans are geniuses by making people think they are voting on sound morals, while the cream of the crop rakes in the cash...

Equally as funny -- not ha-ha, jus ignorant/sad -- are people who assume others haven't served their country whenever they speak in favor of their countries military decisions ...

I do love the specious logic, BB -- you're not allowed to have an opinion unless you've been there/done that ... i.e. men can't talk about abortion because they'll never be pregnant ... what a load of horseshit

Democrats are geniuses in making African-Americans think they care about them, when, in fact, they do just about as much as Republicans have for them since the Kennedy years took place ... guess the 60s carries you a long way without having to do anything more ...

Then again, the Republicans own the White House getting, on average, 10% of the AA vote, so I guess the Dems ruse doesn't work so well after all ...

I voted for GW both times, and come from a long line of Republican politicians. I think I'm the only one in my family to switch over, but granted they made a fortune from the Katrina joke management. I hate to burst your bubble moneyline, but the powers that be couldn't give a shit about morals or you. It's all about $$$$. I worked for a prominent southern Republican politician who shall remain nameless, and he said the dreaded "G.D." term more than anyone I knew (right after he'd give religious speeches no less).

If you own a defense contracting firm or are heavily invested in Haliburton and Co. of course you should vote your wallet interests, but how anyone who is less than extremely wealthy could vote Republican based on "morality" reasons is absurd.

You've got to be kidding with this. Republicans are not the party that "cuts taxes", Republicans are the party that lies to people who aren't perceptive enough to understand what's going on, and wins elections that way. It is true that "we cut taxes" is one of their cornerstone PR weapons, and sometimes they even go so far as to make sure that the money that comes out of your pocket to pay for what they spend can't technically be called a "tax". But don't believe the hype, they are as full of sh*t about taxes as they are about everything else - abortion, religion, not being gay, immigration, etc etc.

Yes the Democrats do the same sorts of things, but no they don't do them nearly as much nor as destructively, and they do them because they try to play catch-up with the Republicans, because it's what works, it's what wins elections.

Politics is all about $$$$. If you have fun getting riled up over party differences, more power to you. I can you tell that many Republican and Democrat senior senators who publicly spat are all laughing at the average joes like you while they swim in money...

Cheers NEP. I understood what Howard Dean was saying in trying to reach out to Southern voters years back, but I just don't think he made his point in the right manner...

Just like most athletes swim in money and laugh at fans like the ones on this site who actually care who wins and loses the big game (their favorite teams, not the ones they are betting on any given night) -- but yet it happens, I suppose ...
