Today is pancake Tuesday. In preperation for your upcoming sacrifice you get to eat as many pancakes as you'd like.

Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday, the first day of lent. As is customary, people give up cigarettes, booze, sweets, chocolates, crisps or whatever you'd really like for 40 days. This goes through Easter Sunday, because two thousand + years ago, Jesus fasted for this period.

Ironic that I get home and find out the wife is making Shepherd's Pie for dinner, so I guess we're celebrating with our British brethren in some ways.

By the way, the first olive was a little rough. I've only got jalapeño stuffed olives right now because I've been consuming a few Mexican Tini's lately and wasn't aware that my cupboard was bare of the regular olives. Picked a tough night to debut my three-olive vodka martini
