I wish they would add more wild card teams to MLB Postseason
I just don't understand this. The regular is so long playing 162 games and I think there should be more then 4 teams per league making the postseason. What would it hurt to add two more wild card teams for each league? Just seems that too many teams no their fate at the all star break, and start shipping players to contenders. This would make for a more competitive and entertaining season. I know this had to be questioned before, and I was curious to get your thoughts on this.
Adding two per league would mean, I assume, you would give the two best records an off week? I don't like that, and I'm thinking that most managers/GMs wouldn't like that either.
I would vote no for adding more to the mix.
No the 162 games is a long season meaning make it worth something to make it hard to get in the playoffs. 4 Teams is perfect
Yea, it seems im on my own on this one. I just think the regular season is soo long and only a few teams get into the playoffs. There are just some ball clubs that are stuck in division that are very top heavy and myles well not even come out and play the season. The bad teams are just really bad, just want more motivation from average teams throughout the entire season.
i would hate to see even more teams in. i like seeeing the best few battle for theor spots. this is better than it used to be, but i wouldnt want more. the season is long enough.
I'm with you on this LK1. I do think they should add more teams into the playoffs. A perfect scenario to me would be to shorten the season to 154 games, and use that extra week for playoffs. Yes a couple of teams will have to sit for a bit, but that already happens with the way TV dictates the playoff schedule. This would give many more teams a chance to be competitive for a longer period of time, thus keeping their fans interested for longer and the game continues to grow. Plus those other 3 teams in the AL east won't have to pack their bags at the end of July because the Yanks and Sox are gone again!
I dont want more teams if anything expand the divisional playoffs to best of 7

The reason you play 162 games is to determine who is the best. If you can't prove yourself playoff worthy over 162 games...You don't belong in the playoffs. Simple as that.
Baseball is the only regular season that means anything. The NBA and NHL are essentially all comers leagues when it comes to playoffs. The NFL lets in 12. MLB has it right. EARN YOUR WAY INTO THE PLAYOFFS IN THE REGULAR SEASON!!!

It is perfect how it is. Baseball is a sport where anything can happen, especially over a 5 game series. Therefore, adding more teams would be adding less deserving teams --- and any team, even the Royals, could win a best of 5 series.

The thing is the best teams aren't always in the playoffs and the best teams don't always win. Just look to the 2006 St.Louis Cardinals. Adding more teams in isn't going to allow a team worse than this one a chance to win the World Series. Yet far more excitment in many more cities for a longer period of time. If things must be kept the same, than at least let the proper teams in and have 2 leagues, no divisions, top 4 teams get in.
No more teams, they might start playing into December.

Definitely no more teams. If you can't win your division or have best record of the rest after 162 games, then you do not deserve to make the playoffs.
The 3rd best team in baseball won't make the playoffs this season.
