I can understand paying a fee if you want to receive your money in a couple of days...but this is a bad move on matchbook's part...their claim to fame since I started playing with them several years ago has always been having a free withdrawal method...anyone with any thoughts on this?...

I would chalk it up to the cost of doing business, but when you have books like BetJamaica & Legendz that can afford to send you a free FedEx every 30 days, I don't think it is too much to ask a top rated book to offer some kind of free withdrawal.

Highly doubt they're making a profit on it. If you think the cost of mailing you a check is <$9 you're mistaken. You're forgetting there are processors and other entities involved in the process.

BoDog You get 1 free withdraw a month.... thats really all you need.... the only thing i dont like about them is their CBB lines dont come out until noon the day of the games....why is that?? they always have their NBA lines up the night before...

KC in response yea it does but here's the thing, Matchbook pays absolutely nothing now except for some pointless minimal customer service for their all internet site. When did the cost of write a winning player a check and dropping it in the mail become "OUR COST OF DOING BUSINESS", I think the 2% I pay everytime I win a bet oughta amount to enough to cover a stamp and an envelope when I want to cashout, and fukin 9 DOLLARS, I mean come the fuk on that's some BS if you are gonna charge people to mail them a check regular mail let's at least not try to make a freaking profit from it. Hell next thing you know they won't even do the commission credit reimbursement they'll just charge me 5% everytime I fukin deposit and you all will reply well that's just the cost of doing business for ya WELL **** THAT SHIT THIS IS BS, last time I checked Matchbook was charging for their service just like every other site so at least give us one free regular mail w/d per calendar month or something guys.

Any investment you make with any institution is subject to risk. Even FDIC insurance savings accounts are only as good as the US gov't ability to back them. Gov'ts have failed before and will fail again.

I play at top rated books and I transfer between them for free, it's spreads any risk (which I believe is extremely minimal) around.


As for $9 for checks. It costs me $3-4 to send a postcard to the US. Matchbooks processing costs are most certainly more than $9.

You say you withdrawal when you got to 3k, so you are paying $9 for $3,000. But, you probably pay $2.50 to get $40 out of an ATM everyday.

It's sad to see, but yes this $9 must be seen in combination with Matchbook's entire deal compared with the entire deals of other books.

But whether Matchbook "has to" charge this fee because of high processing costs, or just "wants to" because they can (there's actually no difference), unfortunately the reason they can get away with it/are able to do it/are not forced to find another solution, is ENTIRELY due to the UIGEA. So the blame really unfortunately rests with anyone who voted for the whole Frist/Bush/Goodlatte/Ashcroft side of politics. And if you voted for any of them or anyone like that, that's you!

Also, Greek is now charging $10 per regular mail check. Their Fedex/DHL fees are $35. I'm not sure if this is what it was before or not.

However how much can we complain about it with the BS the books have to go through to get us our checks? If you ask me the costs are probably going to continue to rise steadily unless something revolutionary happens to help the processing problems.

Wrong. I have received a few checks from Jamaica and they do not charge you anything unless you already had a previous withdrawal in the last 30 days.
