Default Where does Eli to Tyree play rank in Superbowl History?

Where would you guys say that Eli to Tyree play ranks in Super Bowl History? The way Eli got out of that sack was pretty amazing and then the catch Tyree made was probably the best catch I have seen all year. Especially with the game on the line trying to march down the field on the final drive. Absolutely unbelievable play right there by those 2 guys. I know there are more popular Super Bowl moments like "The Catch" Montana to Clark but come on that play by Manning to Tyree is 10x the play that was

Ya, if it were in a regular season game, you might see it once a year in high lites if your lucky. It does not compare to the Montana play. Not even close pal.

Considering the size of the upset, and the fact that Eli is just a slightly better than average QB and Tyree is a no name WR ,Could argue one of the best

However No1 would ever agree ,

wasnt that play on a 3rd down for the go ahead score? pretty huge play but nothing like a montana to taylor to win the game...

but there were plenty of catches that were better than that this year...for starters that one handed bomb moss caught inbetween two miami db's

That Montana play is so overrated its not even funny pal. Joe rolls to the right finds a wide open Clark in the back of the endzone... big fukkin deal. I see plays like that almost every game I watch. Yeah it was at a crucial part of a SB game but so was this Eli to Tyree play.... I think the Eli to Tyree play was much much better not even close actually

The scramble was amazing, looked like something you would see in a movie on the last play with time running out and the QB scrambles for what seems like an hour and then completes the pass....

Agreed... and it was 3rd down I believe with 1:10 left in the game in the Super Bowl... Are you kidding me? Wow, incredible

The Montana to Clark play doesn't really qualify in this situation since it was in the NFC Championship and not the Super Bowl....the Eli to Tyree was an amazing play to say the least...great escape by Eli and a pretty damn good catch by Tyree

Eli should of been sacked and it should have been 4th and forever. That play was the deciding factor in winning a SuperBowl Championship, and bizarreness of it makes it the greatest ever, Period

I know how crazy is that, if Eli gets sacked there the game is 99.9% over... But no Eli makes an amazing play and Tyree one of the best catches I have ever seen with the game on the line in the Super Bowl... WOW

Yup, just your average third-down conversion on a play that was directly responsible for the Giants pulling a monumental upset and preventing the Patriots' perfect season.

Eli getting away and avoiding the sack was much more impressive than the catch itself. He goes down there, it's 4th and 15 and the game's likely over.

The Eli to Tyree the play before should have been the interception that sealed NEP's fate as the team of the ages but Asante Samuel was able to smile that one off. I wonder if he'll be thinking about it later?

    Ranks at number one.

    1) Super bowl on the line; must-score drive. All or nothing # 1
    2) Manning all but sacked, somehow not only escapes but throws up a great and very risky pass. All or nothing #2.
    3) Tyree makes the most improbably of catches. Against his helmet, with Pats player trying to pry the ball loose. With his back bend over backwards so far it looked like it could snap. And still Tyree doesn't drop it... All or nothing #3

I knew I was watching destiny from that point on. Third and 11, it didn't matter anymore. That play had decided the game. That play beat the undefeated 'greatest' (NOT!) team ever. It broke their spirit. It was by far the most amazing play I have ever seen in the NFL. It also illustrated how much luck you need to win a Super bowl. Everything has to fall in place when the game is on the line.

That was the kind of play they make inspirational sports movies about. The little kid brother of a superstar QB, who completely turns his season around, from being on the verge of being cut (at least in the public eye) to winning the Super bowl. That entire drama, with big brother watching from the sideline, was encapsulated in that one play. It was one of the best moments in all of sports, the moment where everything turns into slow motion, and the music changes to the victory theme. From thereon who could doubt that the drive would result in the winning touchdown? (not to mention that it was the play that wiped the irritating gloat from Brady's face).

The Catch was in the NFC championship game NOT the SB.

"lucky the ref did not call in the grasp". I agree with this but not sure where it ranks, I would think it would have to be towards the top of list.

Great great catch... My question is why the hell does Harrison go for the pick instead of just batting it down. Greedy self serving want to be star costed them the game. All he has to do is hit the ball and it is 4th and 10...

Greatest - avoid the sack, hurl it down field, and how did he hold on to the ball catch I have seen in the super bowl......

Pats had their opportunities to stop the Giants but it was not meant to be!

    Unbelievable.
