    Default More BS from Betonstars

    01.28.2006 (02:57 PM CST)
SBR Bill Dozer reports: BetonStars(SBR rating D-) tells SBR they are waitng for a $10,000 deposit to clear its Neteller merchant account in order to pay slow-paid bettors. When asked how they planned to pay players beyond this relatively small sum, management replied: "We will have enough left over to pay other players". BetonStars players now fear that the book will rely on a profitable Super Bowl from the few clients that remain. SBR and slow-paid players were originally assured that this latest wire would clear on January 24th.

    ???

What was this thread all about?

BetonStars reports that they will be current with players this evening.

"BetonStars reports that they will be current with players this evening." (1/24)

So that report was all BS. Some people will be waiting three weeks now?

    Run, don't walk from BetOnStars.

This is a new book. They got a ton of play thanks to tow. But in reality this is a very small Costa Rican book with all the normal problems new books usually have including being under funded.

For me the best part of the BoS story is:
We love Jay, he loved us - but he decided to leave

If a book just can't send a bundle of cash to Neteller the first time to resolve this obviously something wrong. In a transition can understand a couple days if everyone withdrawing, but if you know you have an issue and still don't send the funds, I tend to think a no pay is around the corner.

Raiders, you had these guys pegged. I almost threw some dollars in there to try to help Jay out but then you would rip into him so hard that I had to stop and listen. Thanks man!

I'll give Uncle Butternuts of peepsplace.com, who has never been a big SBR fan, credit for being the first one I recall calling BS on tow's claim that they were solid.

I'm sorry people are getting the run around and maybe worse yet to come. But with this one and the RichCoast failure hopefully if there were any doubters out there they now know to avoid new books at all costs. The failure rate for new books is just to high.

New books such as BetTrojan and 777Rock are exceptions. These are two strong books and are great outs.

There are exceptions but those are almost always tied to guys in the industry we all know. BetJamaica backed by Olympic, BetOnGames backed by VIP, 777 backed by a well known CR bookie, Matchbook backed by WSEX.

Then you have the one offs that are backed by big new money like BetPanAm and Mansion. Obviously these one offs can be risky as PanAm proved.

Then you have the RichCoast and BetOnStars that basically run by begginers with very little money and that no one knows who they are.

    Hey guys,

Well I can see you guys have been busy since I was gone. Lets start with that $10,000 comment. Completely incorrect. The person that said it had absolutely no clue what they were talking about. To put it in perspective we paid more than $50K this week alone. This football season has sucked and we expect heavy loses on superbowl day. Talk about time to lay off on the other side huh? The fact of the matter is never quote a clerk on amounts. They have no idea of what money moves from where. If you are going to quote someone quote me. It is 100% from the source. TOW has gotten a few posts and I will be posting there as well. We are moving to our new offices and will enjoy a lot more space. I read some comments out there and by no means are we small. If you ever started a book that actually pays all their clients and their bills than you know it is a big investment.

I guess if we were a scam book than our costs would be low. We are a new book, not beginners or underfunded. Our faciliteis, equipement, and staff match to any big group out there. If you do not believe it I invite you to come and see it. There are a lot of things to consider when you begin a business. To be put in the same sentence as Rich Coast is an insult. They went broke remember? I am not in need of a bail out and do not need it. We have paid off the players that we owed money to and our actively opening new accounts. Life goes on.... Because you make some payment mistakes does not mean you are broke. Because you rip someone off or completely fall off the edge than you have a problem. We will have plenty to pay our superbowl winners, and frankly it is something I am expecting.

lol-wtf? If you're already expecting big losses on the Super Bowl, you may want to rethink what you're doing there, Johnny. Sure, it could happen, but why would you 'expect' it, when any other bookmaker expects to make a profit on the game?

    This gets better and better.

You are gone on vacation- I didn't know the rule at BOStars is that players don't get paid while Johnny's on vacation. You may want to add that to your rules.

Clerks don't know what they are doing- Who should we ask to get answers when you are gone or do we just guess.

You're moving- No payments go out when moving but deposits are accepted.

Expect losses on Super Bowl- Then don't take any Super Bowl bets.

You're not underfunded or broke- Then pay everyone today.

OK BetOnStars and Johnny. I think if you could just somehow manage to keep your Neteller funded for more than say a couple of hours you could silence some critics.

Is there any chance you or Bill Dozier could take Johnny up on his offer? I think it would beefit everyone if you guy's went and checked out BOS and then report back to us the players and give us your opinion of their operation.
    Thanks.

Theres a bit of a smell starting to hover ... and its not just Jays remains in their backyard.

If this was a movie we would be up to the point where the cops have surrounded the BetonStars bulding and are calling for them to come out with their hands up. But, I reckon theres going to be a last stand shoot-out ... "if we can just make it to the next street" ... but the ammos low guys.

Good idea Catsfan. Yes we can. It will likely not a yield a lot of good info(like if they have any $) but we can walk into their office and see their setup.

Am i crazy ro does it seem like BOS is constantly apying out about 50k a week in winnings. I understand football season was bad. But football is over. Why should any book be having such large weekly losses.

Interesting! They should take all their action and wherever they are short (suppose it's Seattle to the tune of $40,000), they should throw a hedge wager in at Pinnacle.

I like that pessimistic attitude from Johnny though. Maybe you've beaten them up a little too much, Raiders!

I was suggesting pessimistic because he already "knows" his book is going to lose money on the Superbowl.

Perhaps he is being optimistic in that he feels everything is OK over at BetOnStartups.

Either way I just think he's very reassuring.
