Default Lesnar-Mir rematch?

I didn't see the match, but it sounds like it lived up to the hype. Sounds like Lesnar did bring a lot into the cage despite the loss to Mir. Also, it sounds like fans all around gained respect for Lesnar as an MMA legitimate. Maybe having Lesnar-Mir rematch would be a good idea?

Otherwise, I'd still like to see Lesnar drop down a notch in opponents. I still think Tank Abbott would be a good punching bag, tune up for Lesnar. It takes time to build up experience in MMA. But, after this fight I'm starting to consider jumping on the Lesnar bandwagon if for nothing else than the expanding of MMA as a sport.

Lesnar has a lot to learn. He has a lot of potential, but he is still really raw right now.

Rematch won't be any different unless he puts A LOT of work in his mechanics. I sort of think Lesnar at the moment is a one trick pony so it may take a while. I'd give Floyd Mayweather Jr a better shot in that kind of situation.

Hey BBD who you on tonight?

Every lesnar fan became aware that wwf has not much in common with ufc. It was a joke he was the fav anyway. Well there are way more wwf fans out there than ufc. Guess that was the reason. Mir probably best value bet this year.

Not sure where you got those opinions.

The match definitely didn't live up to the hype. Bull in a china shop charging forward with no skills and gets submitted. That was all there was to it. Lesnar has a lot of work to do to even be an average UFC heavyweight.

I thought the match was fun and exciting. But it was short. Pretty much what I hoped for. Lesnar showed some potential in his brief stint, but the guy with the better technical skills capitalized on a mistake.

make him fight Tim Sylvia. Tim has no ground game... Lesnar would win in a heartbeat. Sylvia lives on not getting taken down...

I got the opinions from various internet blogs and news items. No doubt they were biased towards Lesnar, though, I'll admit. I guess I didn't take that into account when I read their account of the match.

I agree, that Lesnar is certainly below average in the UFC heavyweight division. There is also a lot of question about exactly where Mir stands. As someone above mentioned that Sylvia should be next for Lesnar, that would be a bloodbath for poor Lesnar. I'll repeat my plea for Lesnar to try Tank, if you can pry Tank off the bar stool for one more match. Give Lesnar a tomato can so he can actually get a UFC win. Then maybe a Mir rematch, although that might even be a lofty goal at this point. Can we coax Kimo out of retirement? How about Dan Severn?

It played out how I expected and I think more people are flopping the story to make it look like what they predicted.

Lesnar came out on fire, took Mir down and had him controlled on the ground landing shots. He hit Mir in the back of the head, to be honest the fight was close to getting stopped 2 times. Once there was seperation Mir is one of the few hw with legit enough sub skills to pull that leg lock.

This is what made it a tough fight for Lesnar, that Mir could truly take advantage of one such mistake and he did. I don't want an immediate rematch and would like to see each fighter take on others, especially Lesnar to see how he does against someone without the ground skills of Mir. If their paths cross later then great, if not no big deal.
