I was just curious if there is a reason why SBR does not have a poker-room sponsoring a weekly freeroll, or a small $10-20 buy-in tournament?

I know EOG used to have 2 tournaments weekly, the Rx used to have a "poker league" which played once weekly (even had their resident poker pro Matt Sterling play in it), Whale's joint has a weekly poker tournament at Doyle's Room, and I am sure many other sites do. I for one really enjoy playing poker, but the idea behind this is not really to play huge $ games, but more just for something to do one night a week. Also, at all the forum poker tournaments that I played in before it was generally a great environment in which people would shoot the shit and talk about the games which were going on that night.

I thought I would post a thread to see if there would be enough interest in order to get a weekly SBR Poker tournament going; so please sign in if you would be interested in participating in a weekly poker tournament at a site to be determined later. Please post any idea that you may have.

* Of course this idea will need approval from SBR's management, but I see no reason why this is not a possibility if there is enough interest.

That is still unknown for the time being. Of course your suggestions will be taken into consideration, but if a poker-room is willing to sponsor a weekly free roll in exchange for a little publicity on SBR I believe it would be a better option then a big site like Full Tilt or Pokerstars, who I believe would be much less likely to sponsor a tournament.

I believe Doyle's Room might be a solid option...

Most poker-rooms offer account-to-account transfers, so prior to the tournaments taking place I will hopefully make a decent sized deposit, and I will do my best to help out anyone who is unable to fund an account...

- Nice turn-out thus far, lets get as many people as we can in this. The more people the better, and more likely we will be able to find a sponsor, or at least we will have some decent sized pots to play for. Some of the latest poker tournaments at therx only had 10-12 people in them.
