Default Bodog Check Bounced

yet another issue getting my money from yet another site. Bodog send me a check which I deposited for $600 issued on the 22nd of January and guess what.... it didnt clear. I called customer service today and they said they can either put the funds back in my account with a %10 bonus attached but i said no way. This seriosuly impacts my ability to place a superbowl wager now. I feel like im always gettign screwed by these guys. Anyone else have this happen. If u havent checked your bank statement and u recently cashed a check from them u better go and check.

is this the first time u got a check from them and tried to deposit, cuz now u got me worried cuz i have all my money in their sportsbook and havent cashed out yet and sure dont wanna go trough this

Did the check bounce or was the account closed. I'm finding that sportsbooks change banks regularly and if your not quick on the cashing you'll find the account was closed before everything clears.

I had this happen with Paradise Poker and the check was re issued and everything was fine (except for the $35 charged me by my bank).

Was the check drawn on a Canadian bank? A lot of banks do not accept checks drawn on non-USA banks.

I had the same thing happen with a betcris check quite awhile ago when I sat on a check for too long... you want to take checks to bank real fast... would be nice if the books could comunicate more when this happens...

the old Bodog doesn't have anything to do with bounced checks anymore. They have contracted all that out to the mohawks up in Canada.

I've never dealt with BoDog but I know that most (if not all) the banks in Canada usually use a US bank for issuing US Dollar money orders or Cashiers checks, actually, the big Canadian Banks operate in the US, RBC in Canada is RBC in the USA, TDCanadatrust is TD Banknorth in the US, and Bankof Montreal owns Harris Bank in Illinois. The problem you describe is easily remedied.

We haven't received anything from players but have written mgt. to see if there were any issues with a batch of checks.

especially considering their payout nightmare last spring, coupled with no overnites......just not an A book in my opinion.

hey sorry i was the one who originally started this thread I posted this and havent returned to the site to check all the replies in a while. I was one of the people who last spring waited for 2 months to recieve my money so i agree this is scary. The check was deposited the day i received it and was issued by a xxxx bank out of xxxx. the money posted to my account and then about a week later it was withdrawn and the statment said next to an image of the original check "insufficient funds". The funds were removed. Bodog said that there were checks sent out with incorrect routing numbers on them or something and apparently another was sent to me right away which I should apparently be recieving any day now. If I get that one I will let everyone know if it clears. I just hate being at the mercy of the books yet another time. Anyone else have this problem on here?

Books will have these types processing issues from time to time, so it's not a real big concern to me unless it's more than just an isolated incident. Anyways, thanks for giving us an update on your check status, and please let us know how this turns out for you sir.

saturday morning still no sign of my check. I spoke to customer service today and gave them some headaches. I waited on the phone while the guy wrote an email to his "ecommerce" department requesting information. I told hiom after being a memeber there over 4 years and being one of the people who waited 2 months last spring for thousands from them I dont know why I even redeposited in the first place and now gettign a bounced check from them isnt acceptable. youd think a good book after sending a check that bounces would overnight the money again to you but no they put me right back in que with all the other super bowl withdrawls going on. Its pathetic and the worst part is that they have no clue where the check is at this point. Im sure itll eventually show up but the waiting game and whether or not this next check will even clear again drives me nuts. Not going to deposit again with them again ive learned my lesson too many times. Ill let u guys all know when it comes and if it clears this time.

i had requested a payout 1/22/08,Bodog had e-mail me saying the processor had sent out BAD batch checkks ,but in my case i never recieved first check =Spoke to them thursday ,in proccess of Re-issuing another check , Like Tweinber....they also put me in the que among the Super Bowl payouts....wait & see...patiently.

glad to see some other people with the same problem. good luck to us all. I filled out the complaint form with SBR today and I spoke to bodog again yesterday they told me about 6000 customers were affected by this batch of checks and that the processor was dumped as a result but since there is a backlog of requests it will now take around 15 business days and I still cannot get any tracking #. Let me know if anyone else in this situation receives their check and I will do the same. thanks.

Thanks tweinber. One of Bodog's check processors closed shop but Bodog had funds with them and expected active checks to clear. Now they are in the process or resubmitting these payout requests. The good news is the money will get to you and this is something that happens. The bad news is that this is something that happens.

I too had a cashout on January 22, 2008.
But my check has yet to arrive. However I did get this e-mail

"Our processor has just informed us that one or more of the checks that we recently sent you may have an error, making it non-negotiable.

We ask that you please contact us before attempting to cash your 1 check(s) totaling $1052. We will be able to verify whether or not your check was affected by this banking error and needs to be reprocessed. The check numbers which may be affected are:

If you have already cashed or deposited your check, please note that the check may be returned by your bank. If this happens, please contact us so that we can send you an expedited replacement payout.

If you have not yet received a check that you were expecting, please note that there may be a short delay in completing your payout request. We ask that you monitor your account for any updates regarding this issue.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, and want to assure you that we will be working with our providers to ensure these types of errors do not happen in the future.

I called to follow up and they said something abut getting backed up after the superbowl... they said this check will probably be bad, but they can reissue another one or put the money back in my account with a 10 percent bonus. My only issue is it appears that the 5 other checks I have after this will also be delayed.

You have 6 checks on their way to you? You might want to see if you can cancel them and resubmit as one from your account. If the new check requests were processed after the issue there is a good chance you will get those first.

Yeah I know I'm killing myself with the fees by constantly withdrawing... but because of the state payouts this past year I don't like to leave money in these sites too long. I'd rather pay the 2 percent penalty than let them hold my money forever. Plus when I have large amounts of cash in there I'm often tempted to bet beyond my means.

I did get my first tracking number today. I'm not sure if it's for the Jan. 22 check or others. Either way I'm confident bodog will pay eventually. I'm just frustrated because I got spoiled by the weekly payouts.

I too got the same email about checks bouncing a day after I had cashed a check. I thought I was in the clear though but on Weds got a call from my bank saying the check did indeed bounce. Called them up and told them to put the money back into my account and pay the fee for the check bouncing, which they said they would do within 48 hours (so basically sometime Friday). Called them again tonight said they would get it in withing a few hours, that didn't happen, so I called back and they said it would now be the morning before I could get the money back in my account. I feel as though im getting the run around from them.
