I'd give it back. One: Ethical, and people right now generally cannot afford/recover so easily from a job loss. Two: Think about it. . . how many 4-digit+ cash transactions were done today by that place? Probably a handful, especially if a small credit union. It won't be hard to track, and those places are loaded with cameras that spot directly onto counters and cash drawers. Take it back.

Cashed money orders once of a total of $1900 and was overpaid a $100 bill. I got a call two days later and returned the money when I confirmed it by looking in a small box where I'd stuck the $1900. They spotted the overpay due to the security camera when her drawer came up short $100. At a grand, they'll absolutely track this back. To track, they'll look in on the largest transactions of the day first.

It's called natural selection. Any bank teller who mistakenly gives customers an extra THOUSAND DOLLARS should find another line of work. If Brock keeps it and the teller gets fired, you could argue he's doing the bank a favor. That's a huge mistake...not just an extra hundred or two, but TEN extra bills.

I disagree. Even with a camera, Brock can just deny it and say "i'm very sorry to hear that, but I did not get an extra thousand dollars." Right or wrong, there's no recourse whatsoever.
