What you all do with your wives or girls about the gambling side of life.

Heres mine. Cool with it,pretty much can do whatever I want financially,doesnt day to day nag me if I am on computer or watching a game.

Problem is- Doesnt understand it. So if something ever goes wrong the first the first thing we go to is this. That im lying,hiding,losing money,etc and there really is no way to fight it. And im talking about little shit. Like I tell her dont spend $200 at hair dresser today. She says you gamble and lose alot more than that.

She dont understand gambling and all she hears is how bad it is. How you all deal with your old ladies?

we have a joint acct because I wrote a bad cheack a few years back and I cant get my own acct

so if I have a good week....cant really put any money in the bank or she will be like "hey where did this come from"

lol...other than that...as long as I dont talk about it with her...as in she dont want to hear any losing stories...only the winnning ones...then its fine

ive lost a couple ladies that didnt seem to care about my gambling when we met, but once we were together it was a big problem. when you're watching a movie and you get up to check scores every few minutes the lady gets upset.

My advice is: Dont tell her you gamble. And if she knows or you cant hide it, just don't talk about it, make her think its just very small ammounts. Because no good can come from this, even if you win all the time.
I have a stupid friend that is having problems with his chick because he cant keep his moth shut and told her about some losses.

Mine knows i bet, i couldnt keep my mouth shut either, but i just told her about some wins. But im around zero anyway and we dont share finances. Im also trying not to talk about it anymore. Funny thing is, she got an impression that this is easy money and wanted me to 'teach her too'. And she doesnt know anything about sports

i've found that my wife enjoys the benefits, doesn't understand the time that must be involved to be somewhat successful, and hates that i talk to most of you guys on a computer. she doesn't "get" why we do what we do, and is somewhat amazed at the "variety" of people we have met while i've been hanging around the boards. she has basically catagorized us as a bunch of losers who have nothing better to do like watching the real houswives of orange county.

The gambling (money) isnt the problem, its the hours of research put in to it along w/ spending time on forums, and then watching the games. My girl is always saying WTF are you doing on that site all day long, she just doesn't understand. Ha it always seems that she wants to take interest in looking at the screen when im in a "RATE HER LOOK THREAD OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT"

losers? i once went a entire summer without allowing a run in wiffle ball. maybe she'll think twice about her assessments of your company once she gets hold of that little nugget.

If you want to stay married you need to balance things.As far as the $ side goes, Ive found in 20 something years of marriage, that you should have your $, she should have her $ and then there should be both of your $.

I usually get 0 flack which is great. Even will leave on certain sats or Sundays if a big day of games. Its just that once every one or two months when everything collides and she just keeps throwing it out there.

Excellent advice for all of the young guys on the board. I have been with my wife for 22 tears and we do the same thing as Capitalist Pig above. Works very well for us.

I was betting sports when she meet me and nothing has changed. I do what I want. I used to check scores constantly when we are out but it is rude so I wait til I get home.. She gets whatever she wants win or lose so it doesn't matter. Thank god I am successful or I wouldn't be able to gamble.

Just one word of caution from one of the female species.

When she is fussing, don't throw the hairdresser or anything like that at her. The tit for tat arguments only make things worse. I am agreeing with the married gentlemen. They are speaking wisely.

She dont understand gambling and all she hears is how bad it is. How you all deal with your old ladies?

I give mine a % of the wins. She sees my bet card every day. Sometimes I give her money to go to vegas on the weekend to bet my picks, she can keep the profits. IN other words this is a business endeavor and she is my partner.
