    Default Most wasted talent...

which player do you think had the most talent, but wasted it due to drugs, the law, or injury. Rich Harden may be moving in the direction soon. Len Bias and bo jackson are some obvious choices....who else?

Ricky Williams... Could have been one of the best rb's of all time

    Dwight Gooden

    Darryl Strawberry

Brien Taylor... UNC/Yanks lefty pitcher, he dislocated his pitching shoulder and tore his labrum while jumping into a fight to defend his brother. Kid would have been GREAT

    Maurice Clarett

He may not be at the very top of anyone's list but how about Shaq? He was possibly the most dominant center ever and was never in shape. Imagine if he worked out?

I'm happy clarrett was a POS. Funny thing On him was he didn't take a signing bonus on his contract and went with an incentive based contract that would have paid him up to 2.5 mil i think. So he got cut before the season started and lost everything basically. I laugh all the way home on that one

Demetris Summers (went to South Carolina and was kicked out due to drugs) -> he remains the best running back that I have every seen out of high school. In other words, I have never seen better film of a high school running back and I have studied recruiting for quite a long time (that includes reggie bush, noel devine, etc.). He was in the same year as reggie bush and kregg lumpkin. He tried out for the Dallas Cowboys, but the lack of college experience ended up hurting him. However, I would have loved to see what he could have done if he had gotten his act together.

Cedric Cobbs, JJ Stokes, and Kelley Washington. You think D Mac was good, if you had seen Cobbs you would think twice. Stokes was supposed to be a Moss/Fitzgerald combo, and so was Washington.

summers was an amazing talent. he was amazing as a fresh, i thought hed be a mix of westbrook/sanders by the time he was a jr, maybe a bit more raw speed.

i love recruiting as well, noel devines hs tapes impressed me more, but the case can be made for summers. the best defensive tapes ive seen, in a long time, belong to one geno hayes.

Guess it depends on who responds, but as a life-long follower of the RedSox, I'd have to say that in recent memory nobody has disappointed more than Izzy Alcantara.

Not a household name, but this guy apparently had all the talent in the world, and the minor league numbers to back it up. But to put it mildly, let's just say that Iz had a bit of a problem in terms of dealing with the rest of humanity. This guy was a complete basketcase, and last I heard was out of professional baseball completely, having last been cut by a team in Taiwan.
