I've started to plan a trip to the Big East Tournament in New York. I'd figured I would ask around from any advice about going up there. The hotels in the area are ridic over priced, and we need one for four nights, but what are you going to do its New York. Any suggestions? . . or thoughts on how to save some money. . . Im on the list in Louisville to get tickets for face value for the entire session for $ 350. The cheapest tickets online were like 400+ for not so good seats. Wed - Sat. I live in Jersey now, so Ill prob just take the train up there for about $ 75 bucks round trip. The cheapest hotels are still like $200 a night, and I dont wanna stay at some crap hotel. Who's got the connections. . .

You can also stay in North Jersey or Southern Westchester and take the train in. Much cheaper.

Yeah just booked a hotel on the jersey side, it is much cheaper. Also they got a shuttle that takes you 5 blocks from MSG for only $5 each way.

Main advice: Do not buy tix on the street. I have heard MANY first-hand accounts of counterfeits that will not get you in.
Other: Tickets allocated to the schools are at various levels; if there are a lot of folks coming from Louisville, the lowers will likely go to the donors, but you might get good seats if not a lot of folks come. (For UConn, I do not expect good seats). I live in CT and go back and forth, so I have no advice on hotels, but of course expect to pay in NYC. |
