    Default Bowmans Poker

Has anyone here tried out Bowmans poker room. THe most common complaint about Bowmans (aside from the dula lines) is that players are convinced that Bowmans uses robots, and that they rig the cards so that players always lose.

The only time I ever played in the poker room was when they first opened it. I got some free account and I won. But I haven't played there since.

People who lose at Bowmans poker blame programmed robots, people who lose at casinos blamed rigged cards, people who lose at sportsbetting blame bribed referees.

I tend to find that some people tend to blame anyone but themselves for their losses.

i dont think bowmans does that, just like i dont think pinnys BJ is rigged etc...it makes not much sense, those big A books know that reputation is their biggest +

Logically it doesn't make sense to me as to why someone would need to rig a casino or poker room. If you have enough cusomters, it sould be a cash cow, so why risk a sure thing by ripping off your customers. But I'm just suprised at how often players who review Bowmans mention that they felt they were robbed in the poker room.

If books use bots, I think it was propoker or something like that when online poker started out, had great bonuses but they told their customers they used bots. If rooms are using bots now, there bots are not in there to win money, but just in there to break even or lose a little, because all they want is to generate more rake. If they can devise a break even bot, they rake even more money. They have no need to cheat despite some horrendous beats that go down, because they are making money around the clock and in massive amounts, which allows poker rooms to have lots of nice bonuses and big freerolls with huge payouts because of the money generated through the rake.

damn, I don't know how you guys make money at this, but it's cool...I stink at regular poker, I don't think I'd fare well with online poker at all...plus, I'd always have it in the back of my mind that it's rigged...

I'm running a $500 free roll next week. That won't test for bots but someone will have $500 to check it out.

I seriously doubt a company such as Bowman’s would expose themselves by doing such a thing, and you might say whatever you will about them, but look at the facts.

They’re an A-rated book with lots of resources. Why invest in a system to dupe players and risk turning them away when you can take those funds and build up the traffic you need in order to have a successful poker room.

Let’s be real. If you consistently lose at one particular poker room, you will stop playing there, and it would simply be business suicide for a site to do this.

Is it impossible? Absolutely not. I always thought the Twin Towers would forever cast their shadow on lower Manhattan, but hey.

Do I think they’re using bots to take players chips stacks? No, I don’t. If someone has strong suspicions and has some way of proving what they suspect, I really would love to hear from them.

If you feel that this or any other poker room is defrauding players in any way, please write me and share your thoughts. I am always here with an open ear, I welcome any and all feedback.

    Thank you & Good Luck!!

I don't think someone like bowmans would cheat players. They make enough money without having to cheat. I would be interested to know how thier software is written. How random are the cards

There are a numner of different ways you can randomize the cards. THe simple way would be to randomize the order the cards are in, and deal them out. Another way would be to randomly select which player will have the best hand, whihc will ahve the second best hand and so on. Then the computer generates a hand to yield that result.

If you look at the 2 different ranomization method each one gives each player the same chance of winning. But in the first system, if you are a big dog you should likely fold your hand. But under the second system, as long as it is mathematically ppossible for you to win the hand, it might be worth staying in.

Perhaps there are some players who have noticed taht even when they have lousy hands, its still worth staying in. ANother possibility that one of my friends pointed out, is that there might be collsuin going on. And when there is collusion you will often see people with awful hands staying in, when they should have folded.

I was going to reply but I remembered that that very nice man ganchrow made a very good post the last time the subject of card rigging came up.

I haven't played at Bowman's poker room but I do know of other reputable sites that use bots. And bots do not play bad. You are not going to sit down on a table full of bots and expect to win. So I suspect that whoever plays there will have a hard time winning (if in fact they use bots). And of course the after effect will be someone will accuse the site of cheating.

I truly find it amazing how clueless some people that post here, especially ones that work here.

Before starting (or spreading) rumours, you really should do some homework, but that isn't what this site is all about.

Bowmans Poker is a skin for Tribeca Tables, one of the largest poker operations in the space. They also support Doyles Room, Golden Palace, BetOnSports Poker, Victor Chandler, and a whole lot more.

You really owe it to your readers to look into things before smearing the name of a good operation.

    No Better,

I'm not trying to smear anyones good name. I'm trying to understand why almost every player who reviews Bowmans, puts in the review that they felt cheated in the poker room. Now it's true that people are mor apt to report a bad experience than a good experience. But the comments players are making about bowmans are almost identical.

To be fair player's who review Pinancle tend to state that they felt cheated at the black jack table. While I'm sure sportsbook have made a lot of money by addidng casino games and poker room access, I wonder if they realize how many players they lose due to a bad experience at one of thier casino games.

Feel free to post some links to those reviews when you have a free moment. Same for Pinnacle.

Not one positive word there to be said about Bowmans, yet they are a solid A according to SBR.

I guess site management doesn't give too much validity to what their own 'reviewers' have to say.

Things than make you go hmmmmmmmmmm.

Happy customers don't typically type reviews... Most are too busy making bets... Only those who feel they been jipped or have other complaints are going to post to this type of thing... if I wanted an opinion of book and would be more apt to ask someone or post to a message board before I would look at open review sheets like this...

I'll speak about Bowmans, as long as someone wants to listen.

Bowmans sportsbook is ok, around par with VIP or Bodog.

Bowmans poker sucks. Bowmans poker is a skin of the BOSS poker network. I've played on this network from time to time, and it has to be around the worst software around. Not unusual for the site to crash hourly. Not unsual to get booted from the table for no reason. Not unusual to have very few players playing, thus no games going. Not unusual for buttons to work incorrectly or not at all. I can go on and on, but if anyone cares: "Don't play poker at Bowmans poker".

I have never played Bowman's Poker, but I will say that of all SBR posters, I would have to classify Slacker as our resident expert. If he says their system sucks, then I'll take that to the bank. From a casino standpoint, Boss puts out a spectacular although slightly used product. Perhaps they wanted to cash in quickly on the poker craze and created software that is subpar.

I've used the Boss media software at Canbet to play their freerolls and imo the software is quite good. I've had no crashes or anything and i like the gfx and button layout.

Bowmans poker now offers a new poker platform which is part of the Tribeca Tables Network, they do in fact allow players to choose between the 2 platforms leaving the old BOSS platform for those that want to use it.

    Slacker,

What are your favorite poker room’s? What are the worst in your opinion?

    Darkghost,

What sites do you know that use bots?

I look forward to hearing from you, feel free to email me.
