had never checked them out till now. do you bet much rugby, i was just talking with a pal who has a lot of success with it. i only mention it because i saw it as an option on paddy power.

I bet on the Heineken Cup, its a point spread, similar to NFL.

No easy answer, about 150 guys start a typical PGA tournament. When Tiger Woods is entered, it's become a try and beat Tiger show. He generally starts a tournament in the +150 to +200 range. Amazing, he is really quite the freak. Anyway, Australian golfers have become pretty strong recently, I think this is the generation that was inspired by Greg Norman. Guys like Aaron Baddeley, Geoff Ogilvy (U.S. Open winner 2 years ago), Adam Scott, Stuart Appleby, Nick O'hern are all in the top 40 in the 2008 world rankings so watch out for them.

5-Dimes offers Top-5 prices on nearly all golfers in a given tourney, and they give you full odds even if you tie for fifth. I usually come up with a couple of "bargains" every week with two basic strategies. First, I look for lesser names that have played well in their last outing. Second, I watch for late win money the day before play starts. While books are quick to lower win odds on big bets, they often forget to adjust the Top-5 odds accordingly.

I play mostly for entertainment and will watch the last day if I still have a golfer in the running. My best score was in one of the majors last year when I hit two Top-5 bets, collecting 7k on Jerry Kelly alone. This week I have Anthony Kim at 16-1 to make the top five.
