Default Please, take this as a joke!Isn't it racist for the NBA to schedule all these games on

Isn't the NBA being racist stereotyping black people by running a full schedule of mid day games on MLK Day?I don't hear any black people yelling that the schedule was crafted with black people in mind because the NBA and tv networks just assume that all black people love basketball so much.

What if Safeway or Super Wal Mart groceries ran a huge sale on watermellons and fried chicken today?Shouldn't they be equally offensive?

The point of a joke is to actually be funny.

The fact is the NBA is mostly African American... There are no assumptions being made

Default I never, ever could figure out people being offended by food correlation with race

Are the German people from Green Bay offended when the whole country associates them with Bratwurst and sour kraut?Hell no,they are proud about every network laughing about it,showing film clips of Green Bay sausages floating everywhere, people stomping on sour kraut. When Madden goes to cover a game in Green Bay that's all he talks about and they set up a prop on location at the world's most famous brattwurst restaurant.

So why is it a source of pride for some groups to be associated with foods they like and others see it as an insult?

this isn't really about your topic BC, but i thought it was funny a couple seasons ago when the NBA was cracking down on players attire, saying they needed to show up at games dressed professionally and they were trying to crack down on them for wearing so much flashy jewelry or bling as they were calling it. Then they were having Sasha Boran's character "Ali G" doing promos for the NBA, he would interview players dressed in crazy hip-hop clothing. I just thought it was absurd that the NBA was telling players one thing but hiring Ali G to do promos dressed the opposite of what they were saying.

Race and sports relations double standards.

OK,Fuzzy Zoeller was the PGA class clown and even though he was friends with Tiger Woods he probably had a chip on his shoulder that Tiger was winning all the tournaments and getting all the world media attention.

So he got in a jab saying that The Masters dinner would be serving fried chicken because Tiger was the winner and got to pick the menu. The whole black population and democratic party wanted to ban Fuzzy from the PGA and jail him.He lost all his major endorsements.

If a German guy from Green Bay would have won The Masters and been friends with Fuzzy,Fuzzy would have said that Brats and kraut were going to be on the menu and no one would have said a peep about it.

It's perfect symbolism IMO... Black people still slaves and most worked on MLK day... In other holidays the slaves get the day off so really not much has changed in 200 years except they let them come in the house now... Blacks don't mind because no one told them too mind... This is why the double standard exists... Blacks just like whites, yellows, and red's follow the heard...
