Default Is Baskeball the only sport that has regressed ?

Seems like other sports the play gets better each year but basketball gets worse.

Yes the players are bigger and faster yet it stops there. No one plays fundamental basketball. They can not shoot free throws or shoot period, way too many unforced turnovers, knowledge of the game is missing. It has gotten to the point it is hard to even watch.

Football I can watch the entire game but this basketball I just can not stomach. Use to flip over and watch the last 2 minutes which is when most games are decided but it is just a marathon FT contest.

    Damn I miss football.

NBA basketball is especially bad. The only time I can watch a full game is if a lot of money is riding on it or it's the sweet 16.

It has gotten more flashy. The kids try to do something out of their realm and usually turn it over. They think it is all about dunking or shooting threes all day.

I think its better and love it more each year. now with the nba age minimum, both pro and ncaa are better. The league is full of young talent you can see great futures for. Foriegn players are coming in an playing well.

Im a big basketball guy and i would say that basketball is getting more exciting for me every year. Its the one sport where you know the high school guys and you wait for the day they can turn pro.

FT shooting is not down in the NBA. It probably is in college though

Nobody cares about the NBA anymore. NBA is an unfortunate sport because natural talent can trump so many other attributes such as hard work, discipline, teamwork, etc. Basically, if you're 7 feet tall and have modest athletic talent, you have a very solid shot in the NBA. That eliminates so much of the general population that it's hard to stay interested in what really tall black men can do with a pumpkin.

    Haha!

There is some truth in that, i got to agree.

But you dont have to be too tall to be a guard, there have been some short guys doing good things in that position, but yeah, generally you need some height

I don't understand why more college teams don't play zone defenses. Some of the teams ranked high in the country can't shoot jumpers to save their lives. Louisville was 5 or so i think. Marq was up there also.

The QB position in the NFL has regressed th emost because of all the running QBs, all of them are bad passers and make too many mistakes, turnovers,...

That's why I enjoy, not only watching but gambling on college basketball rather than the NBA.

The NBA is my least favorite league/sport to watch, but I really like college BB, just can't win on the games to save my life....

I think the NFL has regressed over the last couple of years. Where have the good defenses gone? Many of the teams playing now are using quarterbacks that are inexperienced and the talent level there has come down over the last 5 years. Despite these poor quarterbacks , teams are still able to score.

It has gotten worse and Stern only has himself to blame. He really screwed up when the league quit marketing team basketball like the Lakers or Celtics, and begin marketing Michael Jordan. Very few players can touch his basketball talent, IQ, and work ethic. No matter how hard they try, only a couple of players in the NBA now can really be like Mike.
