Default OT: Do you believe in aliens?

I saw on CNN that 300+ people in a Texas town saw a UFO. what do you think?

I also saw this on the news last week. IMO its hard to dispute 300 people seeing the same thing, they obviously saw something.

While I believe that other forms of life exist somewhere in the incomprehensibly massive Universe, I seriously doubt that any of them plan on spending the weekend in Texas.....

Maybe they're studying the 'big hair syndrome' amongst human females, in which case anywhere within 50-75 miles of Dallas is a good place to start.

Last I heard the number was about 40 out of a town of somewhere around 15,000. Maybe I should take you up to Stephenville sometime, boss. A big deal to most of those folks is a Saturday night up in Mineral Wells or a trip over to Possum Kingdom.

As for the serious question posed by the thread, I'm with Stumpage. It's hard to believe we're the only 'intelligent life' around, but I've yet to come in contact with any.

I am with Dozer. Even in a town of 15000 people someone would have had a camera or phone to take pictures. probably some military plane that will be released in 20 years. Many UFo sitings have later fit the description of a later introduced military plane.

Of course they exist, however as someone else mentioned earlier, they are not here and are not in Texas.

After reading the various posts on this site for a period of time, I'm fairly certain some of the posters are Alien' { even though they might not realize this fact}.

Well IMO and there are "PATANTS" <<<likely mispelled to prove this.... This is a covert type of technology and from what I understand they have "THEIR OWN" magnetic fields...

This technology is quite interesting... As far as aliens I wonder if anyone recalls the 60 minute special I believe aired in the late 70's.. 1978 maybe..? They SHOWED actual life forms on TV that looked like what we are programmed to recognize as aliens...or what looked like OL's avatar...

C_Pig you're a bit older do you recall this..? I do believe that other life forms have been created via "COVERT" genetic experimentation... I do not believe they came from outer space I believe they were created here but how many is something I can't even begin to guess...

As I mentioned a couple other times I had a friend call me (who is VERY concervative) and mention that he had a job he did at the NASA facility in Sandusky... It's an underground facility and he said the room he was in (only a few floors down) had camera's in every direction and was a "chryogentics lab"....

I asked my high IQ friend "Do you think a scientist could create a hybrid human by altering DNA..?".. His responses sounded practical...".hell if you don't factor emotion and morality into it and discard all of your errors which could be countless babies then yeah I would even get it right at some point.."

They say space has been expanding for 15 billion years, so I think there is life somewhere in the universe besides earth. But I do not believe they are able to reach us.
It makes more sense to me that the small, grey skinned, big eyed aliens are us from the future.

Not to get too seriously into the topic, but seeing that the Milky Way Galaxy has an estimated 200,000,000,000 stars (And perhaps twice that amount), I'd be willing to wager that at least one of them has a life-bearing planet orbiting it. And that's just our galaxy alone, one among a hundred billion galaxies, and that's the conservative estimate.....Yeah, I'd think there's a pretty good chance.....

Duh, sure I do, they are everywhere. Where do you non-believers live, anyway, in the Dakotas or Alaska?

There are millions of them, mostly from Mexico and Cuba. Why do you think they are trying to protect our borders?? Duh.

And if you don't believe it, walk into any big city low rent housing area and flash an INS badge (fake one is OK) and yell out loud to announce your arrival ...............and just watch them freak & scatter.

YYYYYYYYYYeeeah.. That's what it is...

I'm sure those balls worked out pretty good!

Electro-Dynamic Propulsion

The translation of an inertial mass from one position to another is a process usually accomplished by one of the following:

Pulling the mass from point (a) to point (b)
Pushing the mass from point (a) to point (b), or,
A combination of pushing and pulling the mass from point (a) to point (b).
Rockets, automobiles, and other brute force motion devices employ process (2) above.

Ramjets, turbines, helicopters, and other push-pull motion devices utilize process (3) above.

As yet, the pure attraction-only motion systems (1) find very limited use. These usually employ magnetic, electrostatic, or gravitational acceleration as a motion source.

Electro-dynamic propulsion (EDP) falls into category (3). It can be accomplished by optimizing the ramjet process over the entire leading surface of the mass to be moved -if there is a medium through which to move. In the traditional ramjet, air is sucked into the front of the craft; and, with added fuel, is ignited inside the craft and expelled out the back of the craft.

The major problem in this system is the same as with push-only propulsion systems... namely, that all the leading surfaces of the rest of the craft encounter direct inertial resistance from the air that is not passing through the craft - but around it.

The philosophical concept of making little ramjet breathing openings all over the leading surface is approaching higher efficiencies to a point; however, as the ramjet needs a confining space to combust the fuel and air, all those little breathing openings would require dead (or closed) space in between them to form the confining chamber.

The optimum lead surface efficiency in a category (3) system is one where the entire leading surface is the ramjet opening. Such a shape is difficult to imagine;... think about it... A straight tube would almost give a frictionless move along the length axis; but where would the fuel and crew be placed?... what about the guidance surfaces?... If the front-end of the tube is opened out enough to shield the rest of the craft from frictional exposure, then the inside of the tube itself will offer massive frictional resistance to the incoming air.

Inertial resistance cannot be removed when one mass passes through another; however, the distribution of the resistance can be so designed as to use the air, itself, as a frictional dissipater. Thus, the optimum may be approached and attained by incorporating the air (or fluid medium) into the defined field of the craft.

Default There are lots of things flying around up there.

I have a cabin in the far reaches of the boonies in northeastern Minnesota where you have zero light and sound polution. On a clear mid summer night you can look up in the sky and it amazes you that every night you can see things that can't be explained as to what they are.You see fighter jets, satellites, meteors, regular airline jets and small planes but there are always weird things flying around that can't be explained.I suppose some are defense department experiments but there has to be other things too.Even if you can discount 99.999% of all claims made where people saw weird stuff flying around as being identified, that would still leave a hell of allot of sightings that can't be proven aren't UFO's from god knows where.

Anyone ever drive between Vegas and Reno? Now there is a lonely spookey highway where you just get the feeling that aliens are hanging around there. That's where Faucett crashed. It's amazing when you take a flight from Duluth,Minnesota to Vegas as to how much vacant desserted land there is in the west where you see very little populated areas down below.Lots of places in this country for mysteries to take place where no one knows about them taking place.Even in the day of high tech and GPS locaters etc.you will always have undiscovered secrets.

The government always says that church and state should be separate but the government really doesn't want the puplic to know they have discovered life from other planets because people would throw their religious belief systems out the window causing there to be more termoil in the world.People look at behaving themselves while on earth as an insurance policy to have an afterlife and if they knew that there were little green men out there it might upset the apple cart. It's like telling a kid that if he's bad, santa won't pay him a visit. If the kid knows there is no santa,he might act up.

You can still believe in your god and religion of choice even if the government tells you there is life on other planets. Some higher power and maybe the same power made them too.One guy named Doug Stephan that is annoying as hell that has a huge syndicated morning radio show keeps saying that we are descendants of aliens that landed on earth long ago and that's why we have different races of people.

Truth is...

NONE of the UFO sightings on earth are because of "aliens".. Natural phenomenon, experimental aircraft, space junk, etc. can be attributed to the bulk of all UFO sightings..

The goverment has used "aliens" as a cover-up for their actions to protect national security.. Which is probably in the best interest of the people.. You don't want the enemy to know what types of new projects you possess and are working on..The US government has a "black budget" in which billions of dollars go into top secret projects that don't officially exist.

The idea is for the enemy to spend time chasing things that don't exist.. Most people in the world still believe that when they see something weird in the sky it's an alien spacecraft, but it's not.. You can thank your government for putting those ideas in your head..

Well there are a couple holes in this... The two OBVIOUS inconsistancies and sightings of the SAME thing is reported GLOBALLY not just nationally...

I was driving with "Coach" to Columbus a couple years back and to give you an image of him he is like a slightly younger version of John Madden but a little louder...

Anyway I asked him if he believed in UFO's and he told me that back in the 60's TV coverage wasn't really censored and the news would go from a news report about one thing to a news report about another one on the spot and some were about what are known as UFO's...

In any case I said "Come on coach stop f*ckin' around do you or don't you ?".. He said: "Me and my sister were driving up 1-75 in 74' comin' back from FL. and it had just gotten dark... My sister was talking to me and we see this huge THING over the trees a couple hundred feet off the road... It had lights all around it and after maybe 15 seconds the son-of-a-b*tch gained speed so fast it was gone ...RIGHT NOW!!!"

I f*cked with him all the way home.. "Hey coach!!! you f*ckin' nut ...are you tellin' me you saw aliens and UFO's n' sh*t..? OOOOH COME OOOON!!!" He looked at me like he regreted tellin' me..hahahahaha! He's fun to f*ck with...

There was a time when people 'knew' that the earth was at the center of the cosmos. To think that this little planet would be the only one with life in such an infinitely vast space is only a tiny step less arrogant.

I spend some time with someone who said he was abducted. A beer guzzling redneck. The last guy that would go looking for UFO's. He and a friend were out in the woods, were picked up, 'lost time', and never talked about the experience. It seriously messed them up mentally, but they didn't remember what happened. Their ways parted. When they met again, years later, both had gone through therapy that involved hypnosis to go back and remember. You can imagine their surprise when they shared their story and learned that they had both had the exact same experience.

I do not believe we're not alone in the universe. It would be the height of human conceit to not at least be willing to concede that there is likely life on at least ONE of the many billions of stars in our universe. On sheer numbers alone, the odds are overwhelmingly against us being the only life in the universe.

Now, as to whether or not that life has the ability to traverse the billions upon billions of miles to come visit earth, I'm not so sure. I also suspect the aliens are not vacationing in Texas! :-)

I don't know about Philly or some other large cities, but I can tell you why there are never any reports of sightings in NYC. Have you ever walked up and down the streets in midtown? Go walk up and down 10th Ave, 57th street, Park Ave, any of those streets and you'll see New Yorkers who are looking down, NOT UP, down at their feet and doing their best not to make any eye contact with someone. Oh sure, maybe some of them occasionally glance up at one of those Central Park hawks, but that's about it and it's awfully hard to see anything flying while looking down.

And, pray tell, if 200 people in Central Park saw something they couldn't explain, and none of them got any photographic evidence, why would you believe them over us little whole simple country folks? I mean, what makes Julio Vazquez, Bruno Polazzo and Jimmy O'Bannion of 97th Street in NYC so much more likely to tell the truth than Juan Garcia, Tony Caggiano and John Ryan from Small Town, USA?

This actually makes a great deal of sense to me...

Did he tell you his experience by any chance...?

Yes, by sheer numbers in the galaxy there is life beyond Earth, how can u not think that. have they visited Earth? No. Unfortunetley we are too far away. I dont believe aliens have visited us, not yet anyways.
