    Default MAC vs PC . . .

I Been looking into gettin a new laptop and I figured I'd get some advice first. I been using windows for my hole life, and never even touched a mac. However It seems they are passing windows and I was looking into the iBook. Im a lil worried about the transition going to a new operating system, but Im sure I could get the hang of it. I mostly use the computer for sports research/gambling, and poker. I also like the sony vaio, and HP also had a nice one.

Bascially my question is do you think i should go over to Mac? Is it really that much better?

Not really and plus not compatibe still with certain things.

I guess MAC's are more bug free and with MAC you can upgrade and have windows option also on start up.

Get one of each and be happy

Yes Mac is much better in terms of power and performance. None of the loads of spyware and virus infected crap like Windows. Windows programs are not supported without an emulation program or some kind of boot camp dual drive, Macs have an entirely different operating system. Great computers.

Now when you are comparing PC's vs MAC's you are comparing software.

when it comes to the hardware part the new mac's are using Core 2 Duo's (same as PC's)

MAC is faster, better graphics card, less bugs, less virus, better user interface, but more expensive

PC is cheaper and you can download most of the software for free. i'd go with pc because software is easier to get and more comprehensive

Not every poker site supports Mac. That would be my only concern based on your comments. Check into that issue. I have used PC and Macs for years. I find Macs much better. I am into creative media like original music, video, web design, publications etc. There is no comparison in this regard. I do not play games, but I hear that some of the games are not available for Mac OS. I have NEVER had a virus on a Mac. I had a Sony Vaio laptop that cost $2,000 and a virus totally disable the whole PC OS.

Mac's are not faster. Mac operating system are more effecient.

    Better graphic cards?

    I disagree

Macs's use the same graphic cards as PC's

Mac's operating system hands down makes the Mac more effecient
Also no spyware or viruses with Mac's

But I love PC's. Nothing more fun building a gaming pc

Always avoided Macs to avoid being stuck working in the Mac format. But recently I cracked. After three Mp3 players I got an Ipod for the Mrs and thinking about the 3G Iphone unless Nokia brings something with a full browser. Apple definitely has the better hardware.

A PC demands more from a user but is capable of providing much more if those demands are met. If you had to ask THIS question then, likely, you should be better off with a no-hassle Mac, unless you multi-table, in which case you must get a PC.

mac is faster. if you ever used mac pro.

mac can support up to 6 video outputs...pc...4. the new mac can support up to 8 video outputs. why do you think people buy mac for 360 graphics simulation and not pcs.

for kids, there is not difference...you can play bioshock on either machines, but if you're serious about graphics, get a mac.

My first Apple product has been an Apple Phone and I will never use another one, it is just like a real pc as far as the internet goes and the rest of the applications is just so simple and all tied in perfectly.

i agree. apple is the best. mac's are way better than pc's and i think in the future mac will take over. windows is slow, unsecure, and harder to use.

right now the only benefit's of using a PC are most people/companies use them and applications and programs are much easier to get.

Bleading edge PCs are and have always been faster bleading edge Macs. That is a fact proven by too many tests.

mac can support up to 6 video outputs...pc...4. the new mac can support up to 8 video outputs.
PCs support 10 monitors since Windows 2000.

why do you think people buy mac for 360 graphics simulation and not pcs.
They stuck in the old days when good audio/video software was available only for Macs.

for kids, there is not difference...you can play bioshock on either machines,
I am sorry sir, but this is just ridiculous to argue with.

Mac had to go Core 2 duo because there is no better chips than intel right now

only advantage a mac has now is probably the operating system and spyware/viruses

Mac will never take over. twice the $$$ as Pc's

on a single machine? i don't think so. when can you buy a pc with 5 dual output graphics cards?

    not true at all
