Chargers +14.5 (-110)


The Chargers are playing inspired emotional football right now, and I strongly believe they have a great chance to go into NE and not only cover the 14.5 but win straight up. They have the best RB in the league and some would even argue one of if not the best RB of all time. I fully expect the Chargers to pound the shit out of LT and ride him to the SB. The passing attack has also looked a lot better with the emergence of Vincent Jackson and Chambers! On defense they are FAST and very talented. This is the exact defense that can slow down NE. They can get to the QB with blitzing Merriman and or Phillips and have a great secondary led by Cromarte. Fellas I know NE is a great team but 14.5 pts is wayyyyy too much in a game with this much magnitude and against a team with as much talent as the Chargers. And last but not least... Dont forget last year what NE did to SD when they beat them in the playoffs several Patriots players did the "Lights Out" Merriman dance on the middle of the field. L.T. called out the Pats and coach Bellichek, you know they would love to have the last laugh and end the Pats season.... This is my largest bet of the season, Lets do this Chargers

disagree......last week was the chargers high point....they're too banged up to hang with the Pats

they very well may cover but winning outright is not happening.

I'm on the chargers as long as Rivers and LT are playing even though they have fairly solid backups. If Rivers doesn't play I don't think Volek will be able to keep them in this one due to lack of experience

But i'm not sure about "GOY". With LT not going to be 100%, and how big the Patriots DL is, I don't think Chargers can do it. Look for Patriots to be up by 14 at halftime, and after that who knows who will score more points in the 2nd half.
A 13/14 point line is perfect for this game. If anything I would tease this down to -12.5 with another tease for the over. Maybe do a 7point tease to get the -7 and the over 40.

Nowhere that I can see, tho it had been that, even 15 I think at some places on Sun nite.

And from the juice at most places it doesn't look like the 14 will hold. May be at 13.5 by tomorrow.

Interesting to see if the square bettors, who mostly bet late and love high profile teams like NE, will push line up over 15 again on Saturday. Maybe even 16, tho that's not likely.

My playoff Game of Year (tho sh-t, I'd never call it that, even when I was touting) was Greem Bay -7.5 vs Seattle.

I don't think in a Conf Championship game emotion enters the picture, except maybe negatively. Teams that have come this far are all ready to play hard -- but if too pumped (maybe like SD) it could be a neg.

SD has a poor historical recond on the road within a few hours of the Atlantic Ocean. 0-2 this year SU and ATS (NE and Jax). And while I don't have the past years records at hand I think you'll find they don't play well if anywhere near the salt sea.

This is also the second week in row they have to make the long air ride to the East.

However, 14 is a big number, so they have a chance to cover it, esp if Rivers and LT are at full speed. They lead the NFL in Turnover Ratio (+24 I think, NE is third at +18) and it was TOs that won them the first two playoff games.

So they got to get into Brady's face and at least hurry him, and try to pick off a few. Hard to do vs Hollywood Tom.

If I can get 16 I may put a few bucks on the Bolts. Even in temps of 22 degrees. But I can't see it as that strong a game.Still gl to you.

I personally dont care if Rivers can play or not, Volek is a better pure passer. Tomlinson is fine and is ready to go... Gates isnt 100% but he will most definitely be out there... Jags offense made it look pretty easy last week, I expect the Chargers to move the ball on offense and I think their defense matches up very well against Brady and the Pats... 14.5 way too many pts

last week the colts kept turning it over in the red zone, the pats arent likely to end drives on flukes like that. i think they'll have to pound on brady early to get them believing they can hang in this game. i'll look for 14.5 and join 5 star here.

#1 Bellichek will not be asleep at the wheel like Dungy,receivers wont be bumbling and fumbling the ball all over the field.
#2 Diego will not have the luxury of playing in a tempature controlled environment like last week.
#3Diego is banged up and the backup QB does not have the time to get in sync on such short notice and he is not better than Rivers or he'd be starting.
