I bought my 80GB system about 3 weeks ago. It came with Motorstorm, and I also bought Transformers (for the kid) and picked up Call of Duty 4 last week.

I have 2 Blu-Ray movies and they look amazing. Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer and Meet the Robinsons. I still need to send off for the 5 free Blu-Rays that you get with a Blu-Ray player purchase.

I like the fact that you don't have to pay a fee to play online, just a broadband connection, that most everyone already has. Plus it has a internet browser you can get and surf the web on.

The 80GB unit also has a Memory Stick/SD/MiniSD/Compact Flash card reader on it. So you can pop in the media card from your camera and upload the pictures to your PS3. It also has 4 USB ports.

Since it has bluetooth, you can add a bluetooth keyboard to use while on the internet. I like the fact the game controllers are bluetooth, so no cords.

I've read some crappy reviews on games I like to play, like Madden. I have a nice video card on my computer so I didn't see any reason to switch over.

Fight Night is pretty sweet. I think it's down to like 30 bucks now too.

Have the 360 and PS3, Call of Duty 4 is the bomb and i dont ordinarily like FPS'ers

GTA IV is the obvious game we are all waiting for

Can one of you guys who have a decent computer gaming rig compare the graphics from your ps3 to your PC?

How well did the dvd player work for you? My brother in-law had to return his because the system would crash halfway through a movie.

i've been debating getting one, i've heard about a bunch of problems with them. but about the games, when i do get one , the first i would get for me, is the new Ratchet and Clank game, i got all 3 from PS2, i loved those games. i've always liked platform games. i've never been good at the war games or first-person shooting games. i like cartoonish games where you go from level to level and fight bosses and collect more weapons along the way. i have all 3 of the Jax games also. i don't know there just fun to me.

Worked like a charm. Blu-Rays and regular DVDs.

Was it one of the older systems?

The graphics compare.

But remember, the PS3 displays the games in 1080p. I use to be a gamer on the PC, but I move strictly to laptop for now and really don't want to fill it up with games.

If you do buy one, I would suggest Circuit City. Because they give a warranty option. 2 years, but its better then the rest, which offer none.

It was a newer generation model. He bought it like six weeks ago. He ended up going with the XBOX 360 instead.

80GB or 60GB? I know they phased out the 60's. They are going with the 80GB and 40GB's.

I haven't had one problem yet.

I play tiger woods on pc and I think it is better than any console

forget the 40,60,and 80 gig HD's looker. Just mod it and put in a 200 gig.

I know it, it has a removable hard drive that you can upgrade. If I ever fill up the 80GB, then I will look into upgrading it.

I always get an urge around Christmas to regress and buy the latest console. I was a video game junkie for so long, and still play occasionally on PC. The last time I'd seen playstation graphics though I wasn't impressed at all.

The one reason I'm considering this is because if its designed to match a resolution of my HDTV, then that's pretty cool, and I'd like to get some more use out of my TV. The Blu-ray stuff sounds cool too.

I am going to go out and buy a PS3 tomorrow and some games. I dont get into fighting games or any of that really most all sports games is I play. Any recommendation on which sports games are the best? Obviously Madden for football but how about basketball and baseball? And do any of you play online? Im going to be hooking that up online so if any of you want to get schooled just let me know

The game I mostly play online is Call of Duty 4. I haven't bought any sports games yet, but you can't go wrong with any of the EA games. I do however got Need for Speed: Pro Street, I just haven't played online yet.

Anyone out there that plays COD4? If so, what is your handle on there?

No console systems can beat my computer setups, I'm telling ya.

Graphic is better, sound is awesome, with a 24 in Samsung LCD or hook it up to my HDTV, it blows them out.

it's expensive, but you need the pc anyway.

PC compared to consoles=very little diffeence and pc plays faster

Good analysis JJ. There's a reason every time u see the ps3 marketed, it's marketed as a "blu ray" player instead of a gaming console

Dont get ghost recon, looks like it came out 5 years ago.
Ninja Gaidon is really good. But you can't play against other people and obviosly there is no online mode.

Madden is always good, but to tell you the truth, this years Madden is kind of weak compared to last years.

I've heard assasins creed and warhawk are good.

Also there is some game coming out on Feb. 2nd, but I forgot the name of it.

Eh I like College Hoops 2k8 for Xbox 360... its pretty good

I hate the NBA games (Mainly all EA basketball games) because they put too much one-on-one stuff in there, you have 40 different controls to do a cross over or a spin
