Doesn't make sense? Just seems like they are losing out on money there. Why not offer as many options as possible?
Instead of offering 2 "alternate lines" on each game, they could use one of them for the total.

The main reason is lack of market makers. I once suggested halves or quarters (forgot which), and they said they'd put them up if I was willing to be the market maker. They're also not interested in bets that don't draw a lot of action. I guess that's because they want to build a reputation based on liquidity.
