    Default Testament to money management

    I went 7-1 today.

I started out with $400 in my betED account

    I started out 7-0

My last game was Jax -2.5 $700 on it.

At halftime, Jax was up 21-7, looking great, so why hedge? $ 700 on Jax. Normally I'd hedge, especially with a bet this big - compared to my bankroll.

    I went 7-1, started with $400, ended with $300.

    Don't go overboard, folks.

And hedge when you have a chance. Lock in the profit.

Agree 100% with this. Great example that hopefully some of the newer posters will pay attention to and learn by example. Cheers...

Couldn't agree less with this, but I could understand the personal satisfaction someone doing this for fun could get out of just knowing they won (despite drilling their long term profits). If you're serious about this game, there are very few times that you would wish to double juice yourself. Perhaps if you spotted something in the 1st half of play that makes you doubt your original call, but even that would have to be a somewhat extreme circumstance.

I've never understood why people hedge out of parlays lol. If you win the first three and then hedge the fourth game (thus double juicing yourself and hammering your profits), why not just play a three teamer for a higher profit if you're so desperate for that money? The game is tough enough without handing money over to the book. GL...

I only hedge at halftime if I wanted to reduce before the game started but couldnt.

Hedging as a habit is going to give away your advantage in order to reduce liability

Why give the bet away when your the one with the advantage at half?

Started with 400 and bet 700 and lost and ended up with 300.

Sounds like 3rd grade math to me.
