starting jan 2, 2008 (took new year day off), i created a spreadsheet that keep track of all my win loss, bet amount, odds etc. i tend to bet around +130 to -130 range, and the running win% as of now. After my o2.5 win on Queensland Roar vs Melbourne Victory is 52.27%

not very impressive, but it is above 50%, so i am happy about that. (with 35 bets to date) I went 6-2 on NBA last night...that boosted the win% a little

I agree with the above point. The more games played the greater the vig will take its toll in the long run. My gaming tends to go it cycles, the key is to make hay when the sunshines and back away when things are chilly.
My goals in 08 are monitary. I want to show a profit at years end. My plan is to play to my strong points and drop my bad habits. At the moment my efforts involve spot plays with the ponies. As for sports the plan is to lay low till march madness.
No matter what happens I think its very important to plan,and set goals for yourself at this time of year.

as of now, 154 wagers placed since the new year, and my win % is 53.90%

So early Pico. Only January, It's a 12 month season. You can make the equivalence that your not even into the first 5 minutes of the game yet. As long as your over 51/52% your doing well.

i don't think it is true at all. your winning percentage depends on how you analyze games. this is not roulette, sportbetting is fun because you have ton of information out there and it is up to you to choose which pieces you want to use to make your prediction.

on the other hand, if you pick it at random, then yes, the more you bet you're expected to lose your total wagered amount*vig.
