Default Warren Sapp retires....legit HOF tackle

96.5 sacks. he faded in the end, but he was one of the best in this generation.

boderline imo, he always seemed a bit frustrated to me. i think he get's in by the slimest of margins.

i think hes first or 2nd ballot. probably first. i dont like him as a person, but he was the best in the game for a number of years.

agreed, the dude was an ass. he was always walking on the other teams side of the field before games and he kicked the endzone marker at least once....he had some issues.

Had a fine career, great player. Too bad his days ended in Oakland, had little chance at another ring.

I agree he had a great career, he was so dominant earlier and just never showed up the last few years.

He talked alot of talk - some was good fire up his team and show love but it also got him in trouble too

Can't fault a guy though for being passionate about what he was early on in his career on the field.

It's VERY borderline. He faded HUGE in his later years, and I think that will hurt him, but he was awesome in his prime. No way he makes 1st ballot, but probably will eventually.

I personally can't stand him. He took a HUGE CHEAP SHOT on Chad Cliffton of the Packers when they played, and almost perminatly paralyzed him.

It was a legal hit, BUT it was NOWHERE NEAR the play (on an interception play), and just blind sided him. It was really as classless as they come. His reputation really suffered after that.

Whats wrong with debating a sports topic in the players talk area? Do you not like to debate topics? You should jump in let us know what you think, is Sapp a HOF? Im not so sure he is to tell you the truth he was very good for about 5 or 6 years the rest was above average and average. I think the Hall of Fame should be harder to get in and leave it to the truly great players instead of all the good players. I could name 5 DT's in the game currently right now that I would take over Sapp even in his prime
