Default The voters had the Polls right before their last vote.

Georgia was ranked ahead of Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, and LSU before the Conference Championships.

Then pushed all 3 ahead of the Dawgs the last week.

After LSU loses Monday the trifecta will be complete.

Georgia was the best team in the nation the last two months of the season, no doubt about that. I'd put USC a close 2nd, and think those two were alone as the top tier at season's end. Alas, we'll never know how that game would have gone...

i rememeber when UGA tried to score more points than Tennessee in a game of tackle football. it didnt work out well for them.

The voters had it correct in WEEK ONE

Sort of like when Tennessee got completely dominated by an Alabama team that looked totally deflated after losing all those players to suspension right before the Alabama/Tennessee game, eh?

Obviously you're a Tennessee fan and that gets in the way of objectivity for many (I have one Big Ten and two SEC degrees, and will bet against any of them in a heartbeat), but Georgia was a completely different team in the 2nd half of the season. Georgia also struggled against Alabama on the road and even lost to South Carolina at home too prior to that game if you'll remember.

There is little doubt in my mind that UGA would beat anyone in the country right now (USC being the "little doubt") if the game were played tonight....

my reply to you was a bit on the sarcastic side. uga struggled with troy and vandy as well. they're very young, they got better as the year went on. fla, uga, and tn are all extremely young teams. the sec east will be insane next season.

Quite possibly three of the top five teams in the country (of course they'll never get voted as such because they'll all play each other). My how the power in the SEC has shifted (I can remember when it used to be called Alabama and the 7 dwarfs years ago lol)...

Tenn had Ga's number from the 2nd half last year to the 1st half this year. Something like 50+ points or so, never seen anything like it.

true, the 2nd half of the game last year was nuts. this year the vols came out and took it to'em in the first. next year in athens should be a battle. the vols will have 3 difference makers added to their roster as transfers next season...it will be a great year in the SEC.

    MO,
Don't forget about my gamecocks. We are young too. Six of our top 7 leading tacklers we sophmores. We signed the #1 WR recruiting class in the country last year. All this being said, I'm glad we played UGA early because we stunk it up down the stretch, but almost had one hella comeback against the Vols. I think the East will be stronger than the West for the next few years.

true. last year SC had an amazing class. hell, 7 of the top 10 classes came from the SEC. Culliver and Barnes were big commits, but the gamecocks loaded up on the defensive side of the ball as well. losing out on carlos dunlap hurt them a bit, but they still had an amazing class.

Most all of the very 1st polls of the season had USC and LSU as a very strong # 1 and 2.

I think they had it correct in week one.
But no, we get Ohio State playing for a title, who is about the 8th best team in the country.
