Since you posted this publicly I'll assume it's OK for me to respond publicly.

First off, I'd to like to apologize for having made it personal with you a few weeks backs. As a moderator, I shouldn't have done that and I do apologize.

That said, I think it's clear to a large majority of posters and moderators on this board that -- for whatever reason -- either you seem to find trouble it seems to find you. There's nothing wrong with defending yourself in a mature fashion, but when every second or third or fourth post you make features either an insult or a threat ... the situation has clearly gotten well out of hand. Claiming that the other poster "deserved it" or "attacked me" first might work once (or maybe twice if you're in junior high school or prison). But after a certain point a reasonable person needs to come to the conclusion that it's not everyone else on the forum that's constantly starting trouble with you ... it's you constantly starting trouble with everyone else.

Although you received an infraction for that post in particular there were probably 5-10 posts you've made over the last couple of days for which you could just easily have been censured. Consider that that infraction was issued for all those in totality.

Listen, curious, no one's looking to "ban" you. But the way the infraction system works is that if you have a certain number of "infraction points" simultaneously outstanding, then you're automatically restricted to the "Private" forum for a period of (I believe) 10 days. I personally don't want to see this happen -- but if you don't start treating other posters with a bit more respect -- then I promise you it will.

So just chill out a bit and relax. Take a deep breath and realize that no one here is out to get you. And then maybe we can all get back to talking about sports betting. After all, I really do want to hear more from you about how I properly understand neither the Kelly criterion nor the marginal value of half points.

I put all these idiots on ignore. This stupidity all started when I said in a thread that I was vehemently opposed to the WTO interfering in United States business and I thought that Antigua's threatening to steal the intellectual property of U.S. citizens and companies by ignoring copyrights and patents was an act of war.
