Question Is Chauncey Billups starting to best the one of the best point Guards ever?

The last three years when there are polls on ESPN or FOX as the greatest Point Guards ever, Chauncey Billups name is starting to pop up everywhere on the poll ranking system. I do not think Chauncey Billups should be there. He is borderline. Do you think Chauncey Billups is one of the best ever or not?

Lets look at the facts at his stats

1). 5 straight conference finals as a player

2). Played in two final NBA championships

3). All star Player

4). NBA finals MVP

5). As a Pistons point Guard has one of the best winningiest percentage ever for a point guard.

5). Made several buzzer beating shots in career

6). Has one of the lowest turnover to assist margin ever for a point Guard

7). Has been consider the most physically gifted point guard ever. He is know around the league to just bully around ever teams point guard.

Is Chauncey one of the top 25 point Guards ever and a borderline Hall of Famer or not?

Shouldn't even be in the discussion. Great FT shooter at the end of games is a great quality, but don't think he's in that category.

I've never heard anyone call him one of the best ever.

He's one of the better pt guards in the league today.

I saw him play in high school and at Colorado, he was great.

No, and this is a laughable topic. Despite his nickname, research shows that he is markedly below average in end-game situations. If you take out the 2004 playoffs, he's basically in the category of choke artist.

His numbers are good, not great, and the wins are because he plays in an exceptionally gifted lineup in an ordinary conference.

Turned into a very good PG, but there's a reason 4 teams gave up on him.

He's not even a top 5 PG right now. Paul, Deron and Nash are unquestionably ahead of him, and I'd put Baron (when healthy) and Tony Parker ahead of him.

Great guy to have on a team. He sets the tone for team play.

But when I think of PGs I think of drive and dishers. He seems more like a SG with the right attitude to play point. He takes guys down low and posts. He's not a guy that could run the Suns like the plaeyrs rjt21 mentioned. He had to find the right situation to be successful.

give gilbert arenas the mindset of billups and then we've got a player worth mentioning here. however, billups isnt that clutch, he doesnt get to the hoop enough, and hes been fortunate to take advantage of one of the worst conferences in the league. hes a great player, but not hof.
