i was reading the shaq/kobe thread that RM18 started, and it got me thinking about some of the most craziest things i've bet on the past.

i gotta say mine was betting on over/unders on tire caps in the parking lot of the pool hall one night.

Well I used to bet on 9-12 year kids games with one of my fellow camp counselors at a sports camp. I even got one kid on the take for some oreos and I think his team lost like 32-0 in basketball

Has anyone ever bet the coin toss in a game??

I often do it in Cricket as a hedge against a pre-match bet. Batting teams shorten usually after they win the toss and choose to bat. A bit of knowledge on the surface will tell you that the winner will bat/field.

The wierdest thing I ever bet was how many cars I would pass on the interstate setting the cruise control at 65 and driving about 10 miles to our next exit. Seems like I set the line at .5, since I was the driver, with my two passengers taking either side of the bet. We didn't pass anyone, until just before we hit our exit. It was some old dude with a tin-can car muffler dragging, and he was just peeking over the steering wheel with white knuckles going maybe 55 MPH. Entertaining bet, and I took 10% off the top for gas. lmao

when I was in middle school, we would make lines for our WJBA basketball games and bet on the games we weren't involved in...my buddy had us +6 against a team one night...we were down 8 and they were shooting free throws with three secs left...I looked up at him in the stands and he was terrified (had like $5 on it, but back then and in the 8th grade that's a large chunk of change)...I got the rebound and heaved a three-quarter court shot...it hit off of the backboard and went in for the cover...it was sweet...so those games are about the craziest I've ever bet on...

When I was 16 and 17 I'd drive to Mexico and gamble on chess matches in Nuevo Laredo. Plus, you only had to be 14 to buy beer in Mexico in those days.

When going to the university, me and a couple of friends bet on some 5-year old boys playing soccer on a field outside our university window. The room was on the 3rd floor so we had a nice view over the soccer field, and we bet on 1st goal scorer and stuff like that. Crazy stuff to bet on, but it was really funny anyway
