Default Is Garrard a top 5 QB?

his rating is 3rd. i know some thought it was a mistake to let left go, obviously it wasnt, but how good is Garrard?

Probably just outside the top 5. I'd put Brady, Manning, Palmer, Romo, Roethlisberger and Brees ahead of him. Probably McNabb, as well.

palmer would be better, imo, if he wasnt against checking down. seems that he rarely throws anything under 12-15 yards.

He's not going to win a game for you, in my opinion.

But, he isn't going to lose it for you either.

He's very good at managing the game, and makes good decisions.

Switch Romo and Palmer around and you are pretty well set!

Please Take palmer out of the top 5, also take out brees and mcnaab. I dont see the need to rank consistantly incosistant quarterbacks in the top 5. Romo has surprised me this year so I'd give him 5th, with garrard and roth extremely close at 3rd and 4th.

    My top 5 of 07
    1.) Tom Brady
    2.) Peyton Manning
    3.) Tony Romo
    4.) Ben Roethlisberger
    5.) Brett Favre

The two on this list that I feel are playing above their talent, and are likely to not make the top 5 next season are Ben Roethlisberger and Brett Favre.

I say Carson Palmer and David Garrard will replace them in the top 5 next year, Drew Brees is also a possibility. To answer the original question about Garrard, I have him as 6th overall, then Palmer at 7th.

Palmer has all of the intangibles to be a top 5 qb. Up until this year, he was.

For whatever reason -- poor OLine play, poor TE's, poor CJohnson play --- he has really dropped off this year.

ratings mean nothing,he has a solid team behind him although he is improving very quickly.

He is not top 5 yet

    Crazyl,
I think you're being a little hard on Ben not expecting him to be there next year but generally agree with you.

Brett's best years are clearly behind him but he's playing out of his mind this year (Chicago game not withstanding).

I don't know why Carson hasn't been better this year. Has great wideouts in Chad and TJ. I'd say he and the Bengals have been on of the big busts in the league this year.

I'm not sure Brees and Saints weren't a one year feel good story. They will have to get better on defense and regain their power running game with Deuce or someone not named Reggie if they are to return to the playoffs next year.
